My visit to the USA
Sharmila Yogi – (May27th – June 10th)
yogisharmila@...
Now and then, when I close my eyes, I can see and feel all those un-
forgettable scenes in my soul: all of my beautiful soul tribe. I
can't express in words what a good experience I had in our 8 days
program at Bard College in New York!

Including, 5 days of the Global council meeting and 3 days of an
International Conference called "Seed of Transformation a Time of
Fundamental Change". In fact, these types of programs give us extra
energy, more courage, self-confidence, more enthusiasm and inner
boldness.
I was also fortunate enough to visit the USA this year for the
Humanity's Team Global council meeting and International Conference
from May 27th to June 5th. It was a really fruitful and effectual
tour in my life. I reached New York on the 27th in the morning in
their local time at 6.30 a.m. at JFK airport. And from there I had
to travel by train to reach Bard College. At my second station I met
my friends: Duysal (from turkey) and Stefano (from Italy). As I
arrived they were calling `Sharmila, Sharmila' which overwhelmed me.
I immediately felt relaxed and at peace, like I was home, and I no
longer felt worried and there was no restraint of my happiness. When
we saw each other we rushed to greet each other. It was really an
unforgettable memory.
From Penny station we went to the Ran cliff station where we met
three more friends from Japan and one of our friends Keith was there
to receive all of us. Afterwards, we all went to the Bard College -
our focus place. Here, we visited more and more friends: a worldwide
family. We talked and walked around Bard College. That evening we
had dinner in a very good restaurant and then retired after a
somewhat exhausting day.
Early the following morning, (June 28th\), our group was given a
beautiful tour of New York and I was able to see the remains of The
Twin Towers. I felt moved by the empty space and tears came to our
eyes. All the HT people prayed those that had lost their life on
9/11 might rest in peace. We also visited Times Square, The Statue
of Liberty as well as other famous places in New York. We then had
our lunch in the `Imagine Garden'; a place I found particularly
fascinating being the memorial of the singer John Lennon. As we
returned to Bard College, which I might add I found big and
beautiful, people around the world were still arriving. That
evening, Ruth (my room partner from Peru) also arrived. Ruth was a
stunning girl and we got on really well. That same evening we had
a `Welcome Spiritual Experience' coordinated by Dick and were handed
our conference material. From so many different countries a
beautiful gathering emerged as one large worldwide family in the
Olin Humanity's Building.
On the 29th we started our Global council meeting where we discussed
different matters including: spiritual experiments, challenges of
being a virtual team, our worldwide vision for the next 5 years and
7 universal themes as well as an update of their implementation
within each country. We explored collaboration projects whereby the
launching of `Spiritual Activity Campaigns' could be engineered with
the aim to manifest `New Spirituality' in the World. We aim to build
an HT structure in each country, so everyone can find a place near
their homes to meet with HT and experience inner work.
Meetings continued until the 1st of June. On that morning, we had a
closing session of Global council meeting coordinated by Dick where
we all shared our happiness, peace and sadness to leave each other.
We all felt it difficult to part and I will never forget each of my
soul friends. It is beautiful to meet with people and very difficult
to be separated from them. By the evening we had a special dinner –
an honoring conference for the volunteers. We had prepared paper
work from our country and this was displayed in a gallery in three
rooms to show the people who came to the conference. On the 2nd June
we had an official opening session in the famous Fisher Center of
Bard College. On this occasion many HT US volunteers took part and
helped this International Conference. More than 200 people attended.
We had various sections to the program, each consisting of different
religious and cultural dimensions. This program continued until the
5th June.
I learnt so much from my experiences. Life really is a gorgeous
experiment and these types of programs add to one's inner boldness
and self-confidence. I found and feel very sad to know, after
visiting the USA, how far behind my country Nepal is. I believe the
Nepali people have to rejoin and think now. We need peace and
development to co-occur so that this country can be beautiful and
successful; a heaven, for us to live and breath. One day, I pray the
violence will stop and Nepal will go on in its own beauty and
happiness.
After the Program I went to visit some of my Nepali friends, Raju
Thapa and Poonam Thapa, who lived out side of New York City. It was
really nice talking with Nepali friends and having Nepali food - I
had missed it! I had a lovely stay with them and would like to thank
them for their hospitality over those two days. I then went to New
York with Poonam Bhauju to visit Parbati and her friends in Jaction
Height where I met more Nepali people experienced a memorial tour of
New York City. Finally, on the 10th of June I returned safely to my
motherland's lap.
This Program was really fruitful for all of us, not just those that
attend, but the outcomes and implications are fruitful for the human
race universally. We pray and send our positive thought for peace
sustainability and collaboration throughout this world. What we HT
people believe is that all religions whether it is Christianity,
Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Shikh or any other, we are all one!
Our `religion' is that of humanity. The purpose of the Humanity `s
Team is to communicate and implement that we are all one. This means
we are `one with God' and `one with life' in a shared Global State
of Being. The behaviors of humanity must shift to reflect this
understanding. We follow the five steps to PEACE in our daily
lives, which are outlined below.
Permit our self to acknowledge that some of our old beliefs about
God and about life are no longer working.
Explore the possibility that there is something we do not
understand about god and about life to understanding of which could
change everything.
Announce that we are willing for new understanding of God and life
be brought forth, understanding that could produce a new way of life
on this planet
Courageously examine these new understanding and if they align with
our personal inner truth and knowing, enlarge our belief system to
include them.
Express our lives as a demonstration of our highest beliefs, rather
than as denial of them.
I found the people in HT were unique in their kindness and their
thoughts towards humanity, nature, society, country and the whole
world.
http://www.humanitysteam.org/join.html I would like to
complement those who are working for HT by day and night to create
new spirituality and to bring about peace within us and for fellow
man throughout the world. I pray to God our dream and work will soon
become widely recognized and understood. I would also like to thank
other HT friends in the US team who made the program, especially Mr.
Gerry, Keith, Steve, Lynn, Nancy, Ceci, Duysal and Bea who worked so
hard to make the program successful and fruitful. I am very much
honored and thankful to them. I hope others who attended the program
found new vision within and positive contemplation, as I did. My
hard time obtaining a visa was worth it! I cannot express my thanks
to my worldwide family for their love and kindness. I know we are
now separate and far physically but spiritually we are always
together in our hearts.
Finally I would like to thank those at home, our respected
principals Dr. CM Yogi, B.N. Yogi, Ghyanshyam Yogi, Vishnu Bhatk
Dangi as well as other friends in Nepal. Special thanks goes to my
international brothers and sisters including Keith, Stefano, Steve,
Lynn, Nancy, Duysal, Gerry and Guy as well as other friends all over
the World who helped me directly and indirectly to ensure my visit
was successful. I am so thankful to all of them. I will carry
beautiful memories of my experiences in the US, always. When I
reminisce, my memories fill me with peace and fulfillment. I believe
that God shows us the right path and gives us courage and love to
work out our place and purpose in this world. God bless us, let us
follow the right path, and be good and kind.
Love, light, and peace on the Earth.
