On Going Within: Meditation, from ChicagoCWG
Neale Donald Walsch, in Conversations With God, Gary Zukav in The
Seat of the Soul and David Hawkins
in Power vs Force, (as well as other notable authors) all emphasize
the importance of spending more time
"within"...to meditate and frequent that rarely visited place where
one becomes one with everything.
It took me over 50 years, this time around, to realize that I could
meditate until the cows came home or
until I were blue in the face, for the next ten lives and I wouldn't
accomplish anything...unless and until I healed the
parts in my personality that leak the authentic power needed.
I realized that in my personality (something I acquired, not
something I was born with) certain beliefs and
convictions had to be addressed. These beliefs and convictions,
tendencies and habits, ideologies and generally
accepted concepts were draining the very power I was trying to
accumulate. But like a pasta strainer, as fast
as power came in, it leaked out. No build up was possible.
I discovered that the common denominator for all of these tendencies
came from one source: thinking and expressing
negative emotions. There were and still are several other important
leaks, but these were the biggest for me.
Everything, I discovered, from mild intollerance to furious rage and
every degree in between was the direct cause
for a gushing waste of the energy normally available to me (or
anyone) that serves as the universal fuel for conscious
personal and spiritual evolution.
I also learned that negative emotions are not natural, but rather
the product the same beliefs and convictions I held
so dear to, lived by and clung to: I was using an anchor, thinking
it was a life preserver, all the while not realizing
that it was in the justifing of these habits, these convictions,
these beliefs and these tendencies (this personality)
that I was leaking out the very substances of life itself.
