Hi everyone,

This is your friendly moderator letting you know that the next couple of days will be particularly slow with moderating posts. My family is moving from Texas to South Carolina. We will be driving for the next two days and then unloading the truck on the following day.

Please be patient – I will only have hotel access in the evenings (possibly mornings).

God Bless!

Bonnie

Dear friends, the new Conrad W. Baars, M.D. book is finally in print!

_I Will Give Them A New Heart : Reflections On The Priesthood And The Renewal Of The Church_ by Conrad W. Baars ; edited by Suzanne M. Baars and Bonnie N. Shayne. Staten Island, NY: St. Pauls/Alba House, 2008.

As soon as I have information on purchasing the book I’ll pass it along. It should be available through the website soon (www.conradbaars.com). I know that the price is $18.95, but it does not yet show up in online bookstores.

The book carries the Imprimatur of Archbishop Gomez of San Antonio!

Blessings to all,

The Cardinal Dearden Lecture Series
Presents
Lecture III

Suzanne Baars, MA ~ Sunday, October 10, 2004 ~ 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Emotional Maturity and The Spiritual Life  - Affirmation Therapy

Suzanne Baars, a psychotherapist for 17 years, works to assist both the
layperson and the professional to understand a psychology, which integrates
a Christian concept of the human person and sound psychological principles.
She has much to offer to those who are interested in their own spiritual
growth and presents insightful wisdom to anyone who serves as a minister to
others.

Affirmation Therapy involves the healing of the whole person - body, mind,
and spirit.  Affirmation involves allowing oneself to be affected
emotionally by another person's being, by his goodness, which is very
different than recognizing his goodness intellectually or spiritually.
Affirmation gives the other person a psychological "birth," so to
speak-enabling him to feel who he is-not just to know cognitively his own
goodness.

Suzanne has presented workshops on: The Lord and Relationships, Blessed not
stressed, and The Beauty of Holiness and holds positions in the American
Association of Christian Counselors and the Association of Christian
Therapists.
