Lecture III
Suzanne Baars, MA ~ Sunday, October 10, 2004 ~
3:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Emotional Maturity and The Spiritual Life -
Affirmation Therapy
Suzanne Baars, a psychotherapist for 17 years,
works to assist both the
layperson and the professional to understand a
psychology, which integrates
a Christian concept of the human person and sound
psychological principles.
She has much to offer to those who are interested
in their own spiritual
growth and presents insightful wisdom to anyone
who serves as a minister to
others.
Affirmation Therapy involves the healing of the
whole person - body, mind,
and spirit. Affirmation involves allowing
oneself to be affected
emotionally by another person's being, by his
goodness, which is very
different than recognizing his goodness
intellectually or spiritually.
Affirmation gives the other person a psychological
"birth," so to
speak-enabling him to feel who he is-not just to
know cognitively his own
goodness.
Suzanne has presented workshops on: The Lord and
Relationships, Blessed not
stressed, and The Beauty of Holiness and holds
positions in the American
Association of Christian Counselors and the
Association of Christian
Therapists.
