VAJROLI MUTRA: BHARATA BHAI ASKS THE ESSENTIAL QUESTION

Our yoga journal is getting quite large, so we hope you don't "miss
the forest for the trees", blinded from the simple, concise Truth by
the multitude of complex proliferous details. Our beloved Indian
brother has returned our attention to the one thing that matters
most.

"Mudra" (action) sounds so much like "Mootra" (urine), that I had to
write it that way, and it even makes better sense! From the Hatha
Yoga Pradipika of Svatmarama: "Amaroli (drinking one's own urine) is
drinking from the midstream (the Biblical "well at Midian"), which
flows like Jesus said: "from out of your belly like a stream".

Urine itself is the "midstream". And again from the Hatha Yoga
Pradipika: "To practice Vajroli (drinking of the Diamond or Thunder-
bolt - an allusion to the now-extinct Vajrayana Tantric Buddhism),
you need some milk and a woman who is willing". Thanks and Jai Om
