ANCIENT TAOIST TANTRA

THE TAO Of LOVE AND SEX: The Ancient Chinese way to Ecstasy
by Jolan Chang Wildwood House, London 1977
Taoist scriptures usually emphasize the retention of semen, but
seldom mention how it must be done, which is to recycle it. There is
also usually little or no mention of urine. Traditionally, Taoism has
had several immortals, all from the period before the Mongol
invasion, which was responsible for the destruction of most
scriptures of the Holy Tao. Since then, Tao has had an erroneous
tendency to mimic Theravada, a completely non-Tantric approach to
Salvation, via sutras and meditation alone.
The ancient symbol of the Tao is the Yin-Yang circle, as seen on the
S. Korean flag. In the museums of Japan, can be found many icons of
the "Magatama", which appears like half of the Yin-Yang circle. They
were usually hung as pendants on neclaces. It appears to be the image
of a young zygote, which Japanese experts confirm to be so. The whole
concept of Tao, is the Union of these two seeds of male and female
(not flowery nonsensical platitudes and extraneous verbiage).
The practice of the Resurrection of the body from death unto Life, is
identical in principle to the Conception of a child, different only
in the method or practice whereby the couple attains the Reconception
of the body as Genetic Rejuvenation unto Physical Immortality. Those
who forget the goal soon lose the method, and those who reject the
practice will fail to attain the longer and happier Life, which only
the most sacred and holy Tao can bestow upon us. We salute those four
hundred million Chinese who remained faithful, during these dark
times, to this Divine Principle, for which many, including Jesus
Christ, sacrificed their own lives, so that others might live. Jai

The Harmony of Yin and Yang: Sun S'su-Mo (A.D. 581-682), the most
prominent physician of the T'ang (A.D. 618-906) period, has this to
say in his "Priceless Recipe": "When a man squanders his semen, he
will be sick, and if he carelessly exhausts his semen, he will
die." ...What is inside one's self is a safer medicine and is enough
to prolong one's life. Sun S'su Mo was a stong advocate of Inner
Elixir (Nei Tan), and avoided all medicines unless all natural
methods had failed.
"...No medicine or food or spiritual salvation can prolong a man's
life if he neither understands nor practises the Tao of Loving." -
P'eng Tsu. Earth, for instance, was the female, or Yin element, and
Heaven the male, or Yang. It was the ineraction between these two
that constituted the whole.
How important love-making was to the ancient Taoists can be seen in
this dialogue from the "Su Nu Ching": Emperor Huang Ti: "I am weary
and in disharmony. I am sad and apprehensive. What shall I do about
this?"
Su Nu: "All debility of man must be attributed to the faulty ways of
loving. Those who know the Tao of Loving, are like good cooks who
know how to blend the five flavours into a tasty dish. (These are the
Five Sacraments, all of which come from the human body. They are:
urine, semen, menstruum, mother's milk, and saliva.) Those who know
the Tao of Loving and harmonize the Yin (female) and Yang (male) are
able to blend the five joys (elixirs or sacraments) into a heavenly
pleasure. Those who do not know the tao of Loving will die before
their time, without ever really having enjoyed the pleasure of
loving. Is this not what your majesty should be looking into?"
Hsuan Nu: "In our universe, all lives are created through the harmony
of Yin and Yang. When Yang has the harmony of Yin, all his problems
will be solved, and when Yin has the harmony of Yang, all obstacles
on her way will vanish. One Yin and One Yang must constantly assist
one another. And thus the man will feel firm and stong. The woman
will then be ready to receive him into her. The two will thus be in
Communion, and THEIR SECRETIONS WILL NURTURE EACH OTHER..."
The preservation of Yang essence strengthened the Yang force in man
and brought him closer to Heaven. It was important that he
continuously nourished his Yang essence with Yin essence. (Here, the
author reiterates the importance of not ejaculating during
intercourse. Herein is the Great Mistake in current notions about the
practice of Tao. Ejaculation is NOT the problem, and what kind of
love-making is this, in which no one ejaculates? Both partners SHOULD
ejaculate, but SHOULD NOT allow these sacraments to pass out from the
body as Apana (outflow). And these "blind guides" say absolutely
nothing about urine or fasting, which "alchemical fermentation and
distillation" is the only Way to nourish the Androgynous Inner
Conception, known as the Embryo or Foetus, manifesting as a new
Genome or DNA Genetic Code, with numerous signs of Genetic
Rejuvenation in the flesh of their bodies. As the Book of Revelations
states: "I give you a white stone" or purified body, "with a NEW NAME
on it" or a New Genome or DNA Genetic Code, "and nobody will know
that Name but you" and possibly whatever lab technician is mapping
your Genome.)
(There are three known methods of retrieving one's ejaculation: The
best is oral sex, so that the ejaculations immediately go to where
they should be. Ordinary sexual intercourse makes it most difficult
to do this, but if the man's semen goes into the woman, the woman,
preferably can retrieve it by inserting a tube into the vagina and
sucking. The man can also do this to retrieve the female ejaculation.
The only other way is by mutual masturbation. So, now you know how to
retrieve and swallow ejaculation from three types of sexual
intercourse. In reading these Taoist texts, one should be aware of
mistakes in method by some ancient authors. To simply not ejaculate,
tantamount to celibacy, is NOT the Way, but preservation of
ejaculation by imbibing it, is the Way. This former misconception,
concerning method, is one of the reasons why there are currently no
known immortals. Preserving the semen or ejaculation means to CONSUME
it. With that in mind, please continue reading the old texts.)
The Yin Essence: Tao of Loving Master Wu Hsien goes into great detail
about the erotic and passionate kissing in his essay, "The Libation
of the Three Peaks". These peaks produce essences which were very
important to the harmony of Yin and Yang and the whole metaphysical
structure of Taoism.
(1) The highest is called "Red Lotus Peak" (lips). Its
libation, "Jade Spring", comes out from two holes under the woman's
tongue. When a man licks it with his tongue, it will rush out from
its pool. It is transparent in appearance and is greatly beneficial
to man.
(2) The next is called "Twin Peaks" (breasts). Its libation, "White
Snow", comes out from the woman's nipples. It is white in colour, and
is sweet to taste. Drinking it is not only beneficial to the male,
and is even more beneficial to the female. It will strengthen her
blood circulation and regulate her (menstrual) periods. It will relax
her body and soul, to make her happy and at ease. It will affect the
production of liquid in her "Flowery Pool" (mouth) and her "Dark
Gate" (vulva). Of the three libations, this is the most superior. If
the female has never borne a child and produces no milk, the effect
can be even better.
(3) The lowest is called "Purple Mushroom Peak" or the "White Tiger's
Cave" or the "Dark Gate" (vulva). Its libation, "Moon (Soma) Flower",
is safely kept in her "Palace of Yin" (womb). The liquid is very
lubricating. But the gate of the "Palace of Yin" is nearly always
closed. It opens only when the female is greatly pleased to the point
that her face turns red and her voice is murmuring. Then the libation
floods out.
These are what we call the libations of the three peaks. The couple
is seemingly absorbed in lust, but that is no earthly lust, and that
is why they are able to benefit from it. So long as the man and woman
enjoy it, they should kiss deeply as long as possible. And they
should drink each other's fluid. The drinking of the "Jade Fluid" -
or saliva - is vital to the harmony of Yin and Yang. (Saliva is the
fifth sacrament, which we have often neglected to include.)
None of the Tao of Yin manuscripts from the Han Dynasty have
survived, but a Tao of Loving master of the fourth century, Pao Pu
Tsu (the great alchemist, Ko Hung), wrote: "The best nourishment of
the whole world cannot help you if you do not know and believe the
Tao of Loving..." (Between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries,
the Mongols controlled China for 88 years, and they banned or
destroyed every book on Tao except the Tao Te Ching, a second-rate
work. This is an important reason why we have so few of the Tao of
Loving books left to us.) ...From "the Secrets of the Jade
Chamber": ..."He should drink her saliva; then his ching (semen, DNA)
and her chi ("breath", DNA) will be in harmony." When a man has
learned the Tao, he knows how to assist his Yang with his partner's
Yin. He knows how to borrow water to help his fire. By so doing, not
only his small deficiency can be easily helped, but he can even have
a long life. But if man uses medicine from the five minerals (i.e.
artificial chemicals) and swallows (allopathic) concoctions, that
supposedly would heighten his fire of passion, all this will only
hasten the burning out of his fire, and soon Yang essence will be
exhausted. These artificial methods could cause great damage.
P'eng Tsu said: "...If he does not know the Tao of Loving, no matter
what he eats and drinks, he will never live to a great age. The Union
of man and woman should be like the harmony of Heaven and Earth. It
is because of this harmony of Yin and Yang, that Heaven and Earth
(human bodies) last forever. Man, however, has long neglected this
Harmony of Yin and Yang, and thus is in decline of health and power.
But, if he could relearn the Tao of Loving to avoid ills, he will
once again discover the Way to longevity. In ancient China, the
correct Way of love-making weas linked to good health. Without
exception, all the ancient texts stress that practising the Tao of
Loving is the single most important factor in lengthening life.
Su Nu: When Yin and Yang are not in Communion, they can no longer
compensate and harmonize each other. If one can make love and yet
knows how to control and regulate one's emissions, one can greatly
benefit from this. And that is what we call "the return of the Ching
(recycling of semen)". The return of the ching is beneficial to man's
health. When a couple practices the Tao of Loving correctly, the male
will remain healthy and youthful, and the female will avoid a hundred
diseases. Both will enjoy it thoroughly and at the same time increase
their physical strength. But if they do not know how to practice it
correctly, then love-making can be harmful to their health.
Pao Pu Tzu (Ko Hung, 4th century): "The best medicine and nourishment
of the whole world cannot help you if you do not know and believe the
Tao of Loving..."
Su Nu: "...(the reason) men often die young today is that they do not
know the secret of the Tao. They are young and passionate, and they
emit their ching indiscriminately when they love. It is like cutting
off the roots and the fountain of their lives... How can they expect
to live long?" Leng Shou Kuang lived to be over 150, and is said to
have looked like a man of 30 or 40.
The Emperor Shou Wo...noticed that Wu Tzu Tu, who was 138 years old,
had an unusual aura about him. "This man's life force is in
communication with Heaven, because he practices the Tao of Loving."
Wu: "All those who strive for longevity must seek at the source of
life. And the secret is in not ejaculating. Ejaculation will cause
all kinds of disease." Wu is said to have been about 200 years old
when he died. It was not until nearly a thousand years later that
another interesting case of longevity is fully recorded. The reason
may be that fewer and fewer people knew the Tao of Loving in these
later periods.
During the reign of Emperor Shih Tsung (A.D. 1522-1566), a Taoist,
Tou Chen-jen, enjoyed imperial favor because of his magic skills
(siddhis). The fact that the emperor reached such an advanced age,
was entirely due to the Tao of Loving, taught him by the Taoist.
If there are skeptics who doubt the validity of these books, let them
cast away their chances for attaining longevity. Why should I worry
about them? The ancient Taoist masters considered love-making, food,
and exercise to be the three columns supporting a man's life.
Longevity depended on the strength of these three pillars.
Sun S'Su-Mo says in his "Priceless Recipe": "When a man is in his
youth, he usually does not understand the Tao. Or even if he does
hear or read about it, he is not likely to believe it fully and
practice it. When he reaches his vulnerable old age, he will,
however, realize the significance of the Tao. By then it is often too
late, for he is usually too sick to benefit from it."
TAOIST YOGA: ALCHEMY AND IMMORTALITY
by Lu K'uan Yu 1970, Samuel Weiser, New York
This cultivation of (essential) nature and (eternal) life requires
constant attention, and the slightest carelessness can obscure the
Inner Light and cause the drain of the Elixir, with the result that
all previous efforts will be sterile. (Months of preparation can
possibly be destroyed by a few moments of wrong diet!)
When the Spiritual Foetus is formed by the ball of fire (Kundalini or
Holy Spirit), an (inner) white light from the heart (or head)
illuminates all.
This achievement is revealed by the moonlight (the Prakash of Soma)
appearing in the forehead (the Fire or Agni Chakra of Inner Vision),
which will remain constantly there if he is firmly determined to hold
on to the original cavity of spirit (between and behind the eyes -
the third eye), while sparks appear between the eyebrows; both
manifestations announce the full growth of the Immortal Seed. (Like
Jesus said: "When thine eye is single, thy whole body will be filled
with Light. My Light shines from east to west".)
His eyes should not look at (outer) things, but should be closed and
turned back to gaze at the (inner) white light that appears between
them: This is correct seeing. If he is stirred by sense data and
opens his eyes to look outward, his concentration and spirit will
scatter, damaging (the vision which comes from) the Immortal Seed.
His ears should not listen to external sounds and voices, because, if
his hearing is disturbed, not only will his heart and body shake, but
also the (Inner Sound or Anahat Nad from the) Immortal Seed will be
affected and scatter.
I drew the pupils of my eyes close together to concentrate. (See the
Hatha Yoga Pradipika for this technique, in which gentle pressure is
placed with the fingers upon the eyes, to enhance the Inner Vision at
the Agni Chakra.) This showed that Prenatal Vitality pervaded all
parts of my body. My body seemed to roam on the top of the clouds
(indicating Soul Travel from out of the God Chakra at the top of the
head). This revealed Prenatal Vitality that nurtured and developed
the Immortal Seed (to be "Born Again" of water or bioplasma and Holy
Spirit). When it matures, the practiser does not want to sleep, and
when Prenatal Vitality is full, he does not want to eat. He should
avoid inquiring into anything, so that his ears hear nothing, and his
heart (the "house of fire") is disengaged from all sense data. If
thoughts arise inadvertently, he should immediately turn the wheel of
the law, close and turn back his eyes to gaze at the Light of
Immortal Seed, and the rising thoughts will disappear automatically.
The Light of the Elixir will rise, so that the whole space between
the navel and the eyes is filled with a White Light.
If he then closes them (his eyes) and sees a Great White Light,
surrounded by lightning-like sparksm the Immortal Seed is mature. He
should gather the Alchemical Agent to develop that Light.
This Light of the Elixir glitters like pure gold, and resembles a
ball of fire, which is a sign that the Immortal Seed is fully
developed.
As a result, vitality and blood will become all-pervading, will
invigorate the body, and nurture and develop the Immortal Seed.
The immortal T'an Chih Ming said: "The Great Tao consists of
sublimating the generative force into vitality whose fullness will
nurture and develop the Immortal Seed, the Light of which reveals the
real positive Generative Force. This is like an electric current
which, when the positive and negative poles are joined, gives a
bright Light.
When the Generative Force has been restored in full, and becomes as
effective as at puberty, which is revealed when the generative organ
draws in, both positive and negative (male and female) vitalities
unite to produce a bright golden light.
Any dimness in the Light of Vitality and in the golden light, is
caused by nocturnal emission of the "precious thing". Likewise, if
thoughts are allowed to arise during the meditation, outside air will
enter the body and blow out the Precious Light. (Inner Sight and
Sound, along with the health and vitality which cause them, are
considered to be the Inner Manifestation of Almighty God. Anything
else would be idolatry. The forgiveness of one's "debts" is when he
no longer must pay the "dues". This Inner Deity is the True Salvation
from Suffering.)
Practisers of Taoist meditation always touch the palate (the nasal
passage at the back of the throat) with the tip of the tongue (the
Khechari Mudra of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika)...not only to block the
heavenly pool and prevent the drain of vitality, but also to make a
bridge by which vitality descends from the Hsuan Ying Centre (the
mysterious bridle behind the heavenly pool in the palate) down the
throat, to nurture the Immortal Seed. (As stated earlier, this is a
questionable practice, which seems to be confused with the practice
of Rasa Tantra. If not, it could possibly be the result of the
Transmutation and transformation of the body, following Genetic
Rejuvenation - a possible divine alteration in which post-nasal drip
somehow becomes some kind of "nectar", and the tongue is lengthened,
in order to insert it into the nasal passage at the palate or roof of
the mouth. Other than in texts of the Nath or Kanphata Yogis, of the
lineage of Gorakhnath, this is the only place I find any mention of
it. I do not know enough about this. I don't recommend it, but I
could be wrong. When in doubt, I refer to the teachings of Jesus, who
says nothing about this practice. I include it here for its reference
value. - Sw. Tantrasangha)
This is the Embryo of the Immortal Seed, produced by the Union (of
male and female bioplasma). Their union is caused by having mingled
the five (vital) "breaths" (Sacraments of Genetic Efflux. We believe
there are only four: urine, semen, menstruum, and milk.) into one
vitality, to nurture the Immortal Seed in the lower abdomen
(stomach). Without the intermingling of the Five Breaths, the Golden
Light will not manifest.
These two lights are like the male and female organs of a flower, the
Union of which will bear fruit. That this Foetus is forming, is
revealed by Foetal Vitality manifesting (as Inner Vision) between the
practiser's eyes as the Light of Vitality.
(Holy) Spirit, which is now wholly positive, can develop vitality
with its six transcendental powers (siddhis), and achieves: i. The
stoppage of all drain ( Bandha or Hermetic Seal of generative and
vital forces); 2. Divine Sight (Claivoyance); 3. Divine Hearing
(Clairaudience); 4. Knowledge of past lives; 5. Understanding of
other minds (Telepathy); and 6. The Divine Mirror, which will remain
tied to consciousness, if he does not know how to free his heart
(desires)...from worldly attachments. (See the "Gifts of the Holy
Spirit" in I Corinthians 12, in the Holy Bible.)
The postnatal (human) foetus, created by the sexual intercourse of
the father and mother, takes ten months to become a baby... Likewise,
the Immortal Foetus, which comes from the Union of the positive
(male) and negative (female) vitalities in the practiser's own body,
also takes ten months to complete. (It is interesting how electrical
polarities of positive, negative, and neutral seems to have evolved
into male, female, and child - the Gnostic Trinity, the Trident of
Siva, the Three Principal Nadis.)
The training should continue, no matter how long it takes, until the
four elements (that make the body, i.e. solid, liquid, gas, and fire)
scatter, and space pulverizes, leaving the Indestructible Diamond-
Body. This is the ultimate achievement of the training, which now
comes to an end. (This is the Resurrection of the Dead unto
Immortality. Jai Om. - Sw. Tantrasangha)

THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER
Translated by R. Willhelm. Commentary by Dr. Carl Jung
A Harvest Book, New York, 1962
This book and Taoist Yoga by Lu K'uan Yu, are my favorites for
intimate explanations of this whole "Inner Birthing" process. This
book must have been a major influence on Sigmund Freud's most famous
student, Dr. Carl Jung, who went on to be the most prolific modern
writer on the subject of Alchemy - a symbolic chemical explanation of
the Purificatory Process, alluded to in the scriptures of many
religions. It is a tragedy for both science and religion that almost
all of the over 1,500 texts in the Taoist canon, the Dao Zang, remain
untranslated. The Chinese seem to have an exceptional aptitude for
this subject matter, which remains incomprehensible to the average
western mind, which still rejects Hermetic Science and persecutes its
advocates. If theological comprehension is a good measure of
righteousness, the rift between east and west becomes one of good and
bad. Jai Om. - Sw. Tantrasangha
THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER
One can prolong the span of life, and can then apply the method of
creating an immortal body by "melting and mixing". This creature
abides between conception and birth, in true space.
If then the true seed is born, and the right method applied in order
to melt and mix it, and in that Way to create the Elixir of Life,
then one goes through the pass. The Embryo, which must be developed
by the work of warming, nourishing, bathing and washing, is formed. A
whole year of this fire-period is needed before the Embryo is Born,
sheds the shells, and passes out of the ordinary world into the holy
world.
When the Life Elixir pearl is finished, the Holy Embryo can be
formed. From the most ancient times till today, this is not empty
talk, but the essence of the Great Way in the true method of
producing a living and immortal spiritual and holy man. The body is
born into pure (inner) light. The Way of the Elixir of Life depends
entirely on the backward-flowing method. (Recall that the Biblical
Joshua made the Jordan River flow backwards towards its source.)
When one fixes the thought on the mid-point between the two eyes, the
(Inner) Light streams in. That is the union of the seed and the light
of the Sun (man) and Moon (woman). This is the return of the one
light, the time when the Child (Son of Man within) comes to life. The
mutual interpenetration of (the bioplasma of) Sun and Moon...The
finding of the Spiritual Elixir, in order to pass from death to life.
But every man who unites bodily with a woman feels pleasure first and
then bitterness; when the seed has flowed out, the body is tired and
the spirit weary. It is quite different when the adept lets spirit
and energy unite. That brings first purity and then freshness. When
the seed is transformed, the body is healthy and free.
An ancient adept said: "Formerly, every school knew this jewel. Only
fools did not know it wholly". If we reflect on this, we see the
ancients really attained long life by the help of the seed-energy
present in their own bodies. By this is meant the bodily union of man
and woman. The fool wastes the most precious jewel of his body in
uncontrolled lust, and does not know how to conserve his seed-energy.
When it is finished, the body perishes. The holy and wise men have no
other way of cultivating their lives except by destroying lusts and
safeguarding the seed. The accumulated seed is transformed into
energy, and the energy, when there is enough of it, makes the
creatively strong body. The two (sexes) are intermingled and form a
unity, inseparably mixed. The sperm, (egg) and soul of father and
mother, entered this germinal vesicle, and united as one being, in
order to complete the Embryo (Rebirth).
This Embryo is nothing corporeally visible. The two energies nourish
and strengthen one another. When the energy is strong enough, and the
Embryo is...complete, it comes out of the top of the head (as a
temporary separation of body from soul or spirit), and BEGETS ITSELF
as the Son of the Buddha (Enlightenment). (Jai Om. - Sw.
Tantrasangha)
