Re: [cuan-listserve] ABA for high functioning kids?

have you tried DIR, Floortime, or RDI.  Those are more social based programs.  I've heard that Easter Seals in Bloomington can do DIR.

Hi,

Is there anyone out there who has used ABA for their high functioning kids? My son is nearly 4 and has diagnosis of PDD-NOS. He has no apparent cognitive delays (based on an assessment done by CECC) and is quite verbal. His primary delay has to do with social skills (initiating conversation, making eye contact, personal space, etc). I think he would benefit from a "social" ABA program (i.e., involving peers, not just adults), but I don't believe such programs are available in this area. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Jen
