I was just about to link this info to the list serve, so I'm glad I
checked to see if anyone else had posted it first! I think it all
boils down to someone who hasn't walked in our shoes, someone who
hasn't done thorough research, and someone who's trying to stir up
controversy for the sake of increasing media exposure.
It's extremely unfortunate that a person with the ability to address
thousands of people would take such an ignorant stance on autism.
This is exactly what our kiddos DON'T need and is what hurts our
efforts to increase appropriate awareness and understanding.
I admit that I'm upset by his comments, but kudos to Savage for
making himself look like an uneducated moron because he opened his
mouth before thinking.
On a lighter note, hope everyone is doing well. I haven't been able
to attend the monthly meetings in quite a while, but I'm hoping to
get to the next one. Summer has definitely reved up our family
schedule! I'm hoping things will settle down soon - especially
before the school year starts.
Take care, everyone ;o)

apparently these comments were made. I normally wouldn't send along
something like this, but I thought it was important that everybody be
aware. The comments are completely abhorrent.
