I received this email today. I havemade the calls and will say that
Mr. Madigans office in Chicago was not exactly polite.. How can one
person stand in the way of so many...beyond me
Dear Janet,
Senate Bill 1900 has hit a roadblock! Illinois House Speaker Madigan
has decided NOT to let the bill be heard by the Rules Committee. If
the bill does not get a hearing soon, it will not be passed along to
the House floor for a vote, and the bill will die. If this happens,
we will have to start all over again next session!!
Action Needed!:
1. Please CALL Speaker Madigan's office and urge him to move SB 1900
through the Rules Committee!
Speaker Madigan's Springfield Office - (217) 782-5350
Speaker Madigan's Chicago Office - (773) 581-8000
2. Please CALL the members of the IL House Rules Committee and urge
them to call on the Speaker to allow a hearing on SB 1900! Make sure
to be polite and thank them for their support!
Representative Barbara Flynn Currie (Committee Chair) - (217) 782-
8121
Representative Gary Hannig (Deputy Majority Leader) - (217) 782-8071
Representative Arthur L. Turner (Deputy Majority Leader) - (217) 782-
8116
Representative Brent Hassert (Deputy Minority Leader) - (217) 782-
4179 - already a cosponsor!
Representative William Black (Deputy Minority Leader) - (217) 782-
4811 - already a cosponsor!
3. Forward this email to everyone you know!
We have come so far and we don't want this bill to fail now! Make
your calls TODAY!! Thank you for Taking Action in Illinois!
