I just want to let everyone know that ASI is in the midst of some
computer problems which is preventing us from sending out mass
emails. This ongoing problem is being worked on as I write this...
I also need to let you know that our new Exec. Director is
experiencing some health problems at the moment and may be away from
the office for the foreseeable future. However, the Board and staff
are continuing their work and we are here for you! We hope to see
many of you at our booth/tables at the AutismOne Conference and the
Autism Speaks walk.
We do plan on sending a letter to membership in the near future. The
letter will discuss a proposed bylaws change to add 4 member-elected
Board positions as well as many housekeeping measures. Also, to
encourage additional participation in ASI, we will be waiving many of
the requirements to serve as a Board officer in our upcoming November
elections. If you have interest in serving on ASI's Board of
directors, please contact me directly.
Finally, let me thank you for attending Lobby Day and our Connecting
the Pieces benefit. Both were very successful. I do encourage you to
keep abreast of the current legislation happenings in Springfield and
urge you to introduce yourself to your representatives.
Thank you for reading and feel free to contact the office or myself
if you have any questions.
