My 5 yo began his aggressive behavior last year. Though always a bit
aggressive, he began hurting my 8 yo daughter. I had been doing all
biomedical until the day when he shoved my daughter, made her slip and
she ended up with 8 stitches in her forehead....
My sons iron levels never seemed to affect his moods or behavior.
When they were low, the only thing I noticed were circles around his
eyes. No difference in behavior.
We tried so hard to work on the vitamin B deficiencies, but it didn't
make any difference either.
Now, we have him on Abilify and Trileptal. I am NOT an advocate of
meds, but I must say, life has been MUCH better on these meds.
As far as what did I do? Not much can be done. Punishment did not
work. He could have cared less. So I danced on eggshells most of
the time trying to keep the peace..... which became harder and harder
as he grew.
We did the behavior therapy (here in danville) and it did not help.
My son thought of this a play time and got nothing out of it.
However, I wish you luck in whatever route you choose, but that is
what we ended up having to do when the aggression got to the point
they wanted to hospitalize him....
