Re: Perineal/Perirectal Irritation

April, thanks very much for your suggestions. I do use a variety of diaper
wipes, including what some authors have suggested, wetted, very soft toilet
paper. I'm going to order the sudocrem, which I hadn't heard of before. Is
there someplace in the U.S. it can be ordered from? It seems that the ordering
sites I've found are in the U.K. An M.D. did prescribe lidocaine (it's also
available over the counter in one very expensive form, but strangely enough the
prescription form is considered just as effective, but costs about four times as
much. One problem I've been told is that the "caine" creams sometimes worsen
the problem after a while because the body tends to sometimes become sensitive
to them after considerable use, according to my M.d.

some of this from occuring i make sure that ther is cery little alcohol in them
as well as they must have aloe which helps to sooth some of the burning and
irritation as well as the only over the counter cream that helps for me is the
sudocrem. My dr also said that if i am unable to control the pain and irritaion
there is creams he can prescribe for me. hope this helps some, i dont wait for
the irritaion to start i use the wipes daily and only the cream when needed.

oatmeal as well as epson salts, baking soda baths. Am also trying various daiper
creams, but not much luck thus far.

I use Tucks medicated pads.  I don't use the pad as a wipe, I stick the pad  (I have no other way of saying this) between my butt cheeks and leave it...
