Re: [crohns_n_colitis] Re: Heavy lifting and U.C.

Judith,

If you are doing heavy lifting on a daily basis I would consult your specialist. At times I do do some heavy lifting but try to keep it to a minimum.  Since I have never been in remission it can cause bad bleeding for me. One thing I know, every ones body reacts differently. You have to do a lot of trial and Error kind of stuff.  If you notice bleeding and the pain worsens, you may need to find another job! ( I'm in the same boat! I'm on my feet a lot, I work in a craft store. I have to have a small stool near by because I can feel my intestines drop.  It's the only way to contain the bleeding!)

Good Luck!
Jaimie

Jaimie,
Thank you so much for the information. I couldn't find anything on-line
regarding this issue.

Wow, what a dilemma. I love this job and can't quit.

Do you think there would be long term damage if I continue? It is only
a dull pain. Mostly at night when I'm laying down. And it just comes
and goes. Nothing that I can't deal with.

Maybe it is time to see my Gastroenterologist.

Thank you again. Judith
