Hello and Welcome!
I have the same problem. I can't lift anything over 20 pounds. I was told that the weight puts a strain on the abdominal area. Because your intestines are "damaged" the extra strain can cause the ulcers to bleed.
Hope that helps
Jaimie

Subject: [crohns_n_colitis] Heavy lifting and U.C.
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the group. I was diagnosed with U.C. back in 1984. For the
past 5 years I have been symptom free and not on any medications.
I have a question hopefully someone could help me with.
Just started a new job about a month ago that requires heavy lifting.
Since starting I have been getting a dull pain on my right side and a
little bit of bleeding.
I'm contributing it to the heavy lifting, because in the past, I've had
the same thing happen whenever I shoveled snow.
Any ideas or links where I could find out the reason for this?
Thank you
