My daughter is scheduled for an ileostomy in a few days and I need your advice as to what type of supplies we should buy.

 

I know that the hospital will provide us with a list but I would like to know from you based on your experience what do you use.

 

What I am looking for is your recommendation as to product and brand you use  and any other supplies you suggest (e.g. plastic sheet for mattress etc).

 

What I am willing to do for the group is summarize the answers that I get and circulate it to anyone who wants a copy (e.g. new members). I will also update it with suggestions based on future postings.

 

Please accept this request as my way of saying thank you to everyone who has offered support to my daughter over the last few weeks. Based on the information that you have given her, she was very well equipped to discuss the upcoming change in her life with the ostomy specialist during her pre-op. This was a big help in minimizing her stress.
