Your gastroenterologist may have an idea what to do ... Have you
consulted with him about it?
Also, as my brother and my daughter are finding out, while the
crohn's may not improve dramatically other complications are lessened
or even eliminated (in the case of my brother) by researching and
doing things that improve your immune system. There are a lot of
things that can be done ... regular and intense exercise being a HUGE
boost to the immune system. Vitamin C is important as an antioxidant,
helps absorption of iron and provides all kinds of other boosts to
the immune system (you can probably take several thousand mg's a
day ... don't take the doctor's minimum recommended dosage!!). Omega-
3 (found in fish oils for one) helps to reduce inflamation and
triglycerides.
These are just a very few things that you might start doing.
Unfortunately none of these will probably bring about IMMEDIATE
results as any sort of supplementation or exercise works best over
time.
