Rachel: I'm sorry you are having flares so often at night. Is that why you stay awake? Are you on any meds that keep you awake (like prednisone)? When I was on prednisone, I could stay up and clean my house, clean my garage and then wonder if my neighbors wanted me to clean their garage. While it is a wonderful drug for clearing up inflammations and giving me unbelievable energy, but it is not a drug I want to be on for any length of time.
I am seldom on prednisone anymore but I find I am unable to sleep sometimes and I have to get up by 6:00 to get to work. Sometimes I take a benadryl to help me get to sleep. I told my doctor and he said there is no problem with taking benadryl.
I am also a smoker and am constantly being told I should quit smoking and I try and fail at quitting. I now do Sudoku puzzles or read the Enquirer or do the
crossword puzzle in the
Enquirer when I can't sleep.
Well, I wasn't really helpful, just wanted to respond.
