Hello charlie

My name is David i am a 22 year old male from Australia, i suffer from Severe Ulcerative Colitis and also crohns since the age of 16, with both that makes up for 80-85% of my whole intestine being affected but these 2 illnesses. I know how it feels not being able to do anything about this except to get through it. i was lucky to have both go into remission for 5 years, which has givin me a chance to live life and see half of australia and even start full relationships without the fear of public embrassiment. untill recontley in the last 5 weeks i ve become sick again and had to put my life on hold, the Ulcerative colitis has inflamed and i am now back on entocort as well as other drugs in a hope to stop it and get it under control again before it takes control and starts to as you put ravage my body, last time i almost has everything removed but refused the surgery. i am not about to go down the road again.

If you do go forward with the documentary, i would like to tell others my personal battle and experiances with these illnesses.

Hello all!
I am new here but feel very welcome!

I am a 28 year old guy from Los Angeles but currently live in Las vegas.
I have been suffering from Severe Ulcerative Colitis for about 3.5 years and it has
drastically changed my life.
I used to be very athletic and social (parties, clubs, etc...) but this disease has left my body
ravaged. I have poor energy and cannot do most of the things that I really enjoy doing
(playing tennis,hockey,baseball,etc..).
I am Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired!
I am not a very religious man but I now feel that I have a higher calling in life. I really
believe that this battle with UC has changed my life for the better. I believe that I got this
condition to help others (and myself of course!) overcome.


I wanted to get some of your opinions and possibly some help with a Documentary that I
plan on filming about my currrent battle with Severe Ulcerative Colitis. I want to make this
film about the various forms of IBD and Colon Cancer. I want to raise awareness!

The film will be about my personal every day struggle with the disease and how it has
severly limited me. I want to show how I plan on healing myself through a healthy diet and
lifestyle ( i hope it works!). I will film various Doctor visits and tests (colonoscopies, blood
work results, etc..), support groups, a daily-diary of how I feel on diffferent days, and
other's suffering from this and how their lives and the lives of their loved one's are
affected.

I also want to feature the stories of other people that suffer from Crohns,UC,Colon Cancer,
etc...

I am thinking that this documentary is less about me but rather about everyone else out
there suffering and how people are afraid or reluctant to talk about these diseases.

We need to raise awareness about Colon cancer and how it is preventable.

I am really scared that I might get Cancer if I don't do something about my condition!! 

I want to interview people who have and are currently taking on these ravaging diseases.

What do you all think about this? Would you be interested in participating?
Any advice please?

I would also like to form a Non-Profit Organization in my area. Las Vegas.
I want to form this and help raise money for others that do not have health insurance and
the money needed for medications and/or treatments. I know what it feels like!

Any ideas?
