I am sorry for all that you are going through. I have had Crohn's for 14
years now and an ileostomy for only 2 years. Stress will always be part of
your life. The thing that helped me was learn to work with the stress, and
not let little things get to me. Sure it is harder done than said. You can
get disability, but does take time. I am on disability and it took over a
year for me to get it. I probably could go back to work, but I get so tired
and can not sit or stand for extended periods.
I also find that doing something enjoyable helps limit your stress, for me
it is Jewelry making. (New hobby for me). Anytime you feel so stressed out
write down your feelings. You can always gripe to the group. (Hope I am
speaking for all of us). We have all been through things and can help you
out anytime you need it.

hello everyone, i am just joining the group and i am reaching out
for any advise i can get. right now i feel i am losing my mind and
my health is failing. let me tell you my history.
i was pregant at the age of 23 feeling fine til about the last 3
months of my pregnacy i had diarrhea all the time. the docs couldnt
find out why. i was from a very small town. when finally i thought i
was in labor i went to the hospital which i wasnt and i was put in
quaritine do to the small town didnt have a clue what i had. i was
sent by ambulance to a big town hospital and within two days
diagnosed with ulcertive colitis. the doctors put me on all sorts of
steroids for i was pregnant and losing way to much weight. after one
week of steroids and blood transfusions i was taken off all
medications due to harmful to the baby and i was told i had to have
the surgry and i was to have a bag. i couldnt imagine it i was a
single mom who would want a woman with a bag. i did have surgry i
now have an ileostomy have had it 23 years. i have been in and out
of the hospitals do to no immune and catching every little thing and
adhesions. i have had 5 surgeries since. not all do to the illness i
dont thing. i have over come living with a bag and have worked and
lived a pretty normal life til now. i have been told my bones are
deterating. i really dont know why. i had a blockage a month ago
first one ever and it was a horrible experience. i was told i had
crohns. now i must live having crohns that 10% of patients have both
diseases. i must learn to eat all over again i can not have fruits
or vegs which i live on. i am on imuron and entocort. if the
medications do not work i will have to have another surgry. i am not
happy about all this. i have tried to work but the stress put me
back in. now i am off work for a month. i am going nuts. i am
tired all the time. i must work but i know if i do i will go back in
the hospital because i am not able to handle stress. is there
anyone who may be going through similar situation. has advise on how
to keep going the stress of no money coming in is horrible. thank
god for friends and family. can i get disability. what foods can i
eat. i am reaching out for any advise
