Hi Everyone - I finally got approved for the group!
I've been seeing a GI since Jan. and have not yet had relief. Here's a little bit of my story - just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences or any insight to offer.
After talking to a new GI & him reviewing the test results sent from the 1st GI i came away with "you're very sick & as far as i can tell you have crohns" apparently my bloodwork showed that i'm very B12 deficient and anemic. so he gave me a B12 shot and a rx for folic acid and told me to start a centrum one a day. he also had me go for an upper GI w/ small bowel follow thru which came back normal. then monday i went for an EGD which was also normal. from what he told my mom after the endoscopy (i was still drugged) i guess he's doubting crohns now. he's confused b/c im not responding to asacol (im on 12 a day) and he's weening me off entocort b/c it also doesn't seem to be helping. i told him that the lower right side of my abdomen has this churning, sucking, crampy feeling a lot of the time. maybe the asacol is helping (i'm down to going like 3-6 times/day instead of 6-8 before i started the meds) but i really don't feel good still or like i hope to eventually.
mornings are still the worst for me, lots of times i'm up at 3 & 4 am til it's til to go to work, going to the bathroom. more bloodwork just came back & i'm still very B12 deficient so i'm going for another shot and i go for a CT scan before i see the dr again on july 1st. i am so beyond frustrated b/c i really want to feel better. even the lomotil that was helping is not helping like it used to. i have to keep taking more. any ideas??
Thanks!
Melissa
