Guinea-pig Shooting star likes CLS   Message List

Many of you have pets that like CLS and if you have time to share your stories
to the group, we would be happy to "read" from you. We have 3 guinea-pigs, and
after the girls got the two boys together against the rules and one got injured
( yes, the two boys used to be best buddies, but grew up and are no longer, for
some reason- testosterone ?). "Shooting star" was bit by " Apple" and got a
serious infection in his foot. I took him to the vet and got antibiotics but it
didn't seem to do much and the vet told us that an amputation of the leg could
possibly work, however if he would even make it or not is not really sure. Well,
I can think of spending 1000 dollars on something else than a vet bill that
might not save our little cute friend here anyway, so I thought I will do an
experiment. I had noticed that "Shooty" started to purr when he heard Ron's
voice ( and he has heard Ron's voice a lot as Ron is often on the radio here,
and he normally only purrs if we pat him... or if he hears Ron's voice). So I
let "Shooty" have an infection body clearing and a pain body clearing on-line.
Needless to say this must have been the two cheapest clearings we have gotten,
as he is only one year old, so it was not such a big deal for me to test it out.
Two days later his foot has finally gotten down in size and it seems the
swelling is almost all gone, from having seen no improvement at all before this.
I still do not know how well this will work, but so far so good, and he has also
gone from seemingly no will to go on to being active again, even if he still
drags the leg behind him. Update will follow.
Annika
