Hi there,
Although I have not worked with people who have been diagnosed with upper
motor neuron lesions,
I have worked a great deal with all fors of paralysis and spacticity and had
great results. Becaause we are working with the covering around the central
nervous system, and releasing restrictions in that membrane, the nervous
system can benifit a great deal. There is a very strong connection of the
membrane (Dura) at the base of the skull called the Foramen Magnum. The
brain stem is very close by. i have woked with people who have had their
brain herniating through this opening. They have reported a huge change in
symptoms. Everythin from regaining movement and sensation to changes in
balance and vision. It also dpeneds on whether it is from a trauma or if it
is organic. If from a traumatic incident, allowing the body to release the
effects of the traum would greatly help. If it is organic in nature than
you would want to find out why the body is doing this to itslef.
Generally CST helps increase fluid and space for the brain and spinal cord.
That alone would be helpfull...they work very well with CranioSacral Therapy
As for other modalities...acupuncture is great as is lymphatic drainage work
I hope this helps. There also may be some others out here with experience
with this diagnosis
