Is the CPK group still active? There haven't been any posts in ages.
Is there any possibility of some of the latest seminars being offered on DVD for
those of us who were unable to attend the live seminars?
Dr. Dowty, I hope you are doing well. I so appreciate your amazing
contributions to chiropractic and healing.
Also, could someone explain the new prefix procedures? I understand that they
have changed from what I was taught previously.
Thanks for the help.

I almost forgot to mention some exciting news! I have been asked by Dr. Jonny
Bowden, a nationally known nutrition author to provide input to his latest book
on Anti-Aging. I am providing input for the brain and bones and muscle chapters.
Chiropractic has much to offer in maintaining and promoting the continued health
of these systems and I am filtering in as much chiropractic as I can.
I am not sure when this latest book will be published as it is still being
written, but Jonny has several other books that are widely available from
Amazon, the big bookstores like Barnes and Nobles, etc and Costco. His books
are great general patient education books about nutrition and health. He writes
for major magazines and is in the media often. He will be on the Mike and
Juliet show on the Fox network on April 9th. His website is
www.jonnybowden.com if you want to monitor the anti-aging book's publication
dates and I will try to post that here if I know anything.

A friend here told me about a service here called Public Access TV. They have classes that you can attend (free I think) on all phases of producing a tv program. Once you attend the classes you can record your own program at the public studio and have it aired on public access tv. I have a patient with a burning nose. A few years ago I had a case that didn't resolve. She is 57, is pretty much allergic to most meds, cannot take any enzymes without abdominal disturbance. On her own she's tried nasal flushes with sinu rinse, neil med sinues rinse, water pik, saline water and saline spray, Ayr gel and spray. Avolox and 2 z packs in the past 3 months for sinus infections. She puts vaseline in her nose as well as vicks because that burn hurts less than nothing at all. She boils vicks and water in the housse to help with the humidity and then none at all. She's cut out caffeine and that's made it worse. Pepcid and zantac help the stomach but not the nose. CPK reveals yeast that has been treated. Anterior scalene muscles and upper thoracic involvement. Hiatal hernia, a deficiency in HCL but that can be treated with ST 36/45 as she reacted to just about every supplement we've attempted (and it's been deficient! no cross talk). The EENT today suggested she has sjogrens. I'm not buying it but at least they ran the correct tests. She's not dry other than her nose and recently her eyes and doesn't feel the need to drink all day long like most sjogren patients.

Dear Travis,
I took Bio Cranial when it was first introduced to this county in the 80's. It was a 3 day seminar by Dr. Boyed -the osteopath who created it. At the end of the 3 days it turned out to be 1 technique 0r a way of holding the head to release the dura which can be tought in 15 minutes. I don't know who is teaching it now but it claims it can cure everything. I don't think it is worth the price they have on it. If I see you at the next annual I can show it to you.

Hi all,
I was wondering what the word is about Bio cranial. If anyone would share info I would appreciate it. I went to their web site and found that it was $5,000 to learn it and $80 per month to maintain a membership. I am being draw to incorporate more cranial work into CPK. Mainly because our son has had a few head traumas in the past.

Hi All,
I called the Doubletree hotel, tonight, to reserve a spot on the
shuttle from the airport. They told me that the shuttle service had
been suspended at this time and that the only transportation to/from
the airport would be by taxi. They estimate $50 one way for this.
I am expected to land in St. Louis at 8:05pm on American flight #2228
from Dallas. Is anyone else coming in around that time that would be
interested in sharing a cab? If so, please call me at 214-674-5138.
That's my cell phone.
I look forward to seeing everyone!

Article: Knee pain and Lung Cancer
SURPRISING SYMPTOM OF CANCER
It's
a common worry -- a strange, inexplicable symptom turns out to be the first
sign of an undiagnosed cancer. Such tales are understandably frightening --
after all, who doesn't suffer arbitrary aches and pains, especially as we age?
While these shouldn't be reason to live in fear, a recent Italian study
uncovered a connection between certain unusual symptoms and cancer. Fortunately
this is a rare occurrence, but nonetheless, important to be aware of.
LUNG CANCER AND KNEE
PAIN
In
the study, rheumatologists reviewed the records of 296 patients who came to a
medical center with a painful knee. In five of these patients -- all of whom
were middle-aged men with a history of heavy smoking -- X-rays showed
suspicious growths in their lungs. These men had a type of cancer called
non-small-cell lung cancer, which surgeons removed... in all five cases, the
knee pain went away after their lung cancer was successfully treated. These
results led the authors to suggest that after doctors rule out more common
causes for arthritis in a painful knee, a chest X-ray is a good idea --
especially in people who have smoked heavily.
To
learn more, I called Maria Suarez-Almazor, MD, PhD, a rheumatologist t M.D.AndersonCancerCenter
in Houston. She
has an interest in what's known as "paraneoplastic syndromes" in
illness, where seemingly unrelated problems are caused by your body's attempt
to heal itself from other diseases. It turns out that sometimes a malignant
tumor produces substances that damage tissues in your body, while at other
times such symptoms can be the result of your immune system's effort to fight
the tumor, which inadvertently harms healthy tissues.
This
study is intriguing, she said, while also pointing out that only a tiny
percentage of the patients with knee pain actually had cancer. Nonetheless, she
agreed that if doctors can't find any reason for pain in one knee, such as an
orthopedic cause, it might be reasonable to suspect a paraneoplastic syndrome.
More research is necessary, since this is the first study to suggest an
association between knee arthritis and lung cancer.
Dr.
Suarez-Almazor told me that there are other well-known and more common
paraneoplastic syndromes that may lead a doctor to test for cancer more
quickly. She
listed some examples:
Lung cancer is commonly
associated with a problem called hypertrophic osteoarthropathy, which as
cancer progresses can involve pain in many joints and is marked by
clubbing of the fingers, with fingertips growing round and bulbous.
An early symptom of acute
lymphoblastic leukemia in children is joint pain -- particularly in a
knee, along with anemia. Arthritis can also be observed in acute myeloid
leukemia in adults.
Muscle weakness along with a
specifi type of rash around the eyes is a sign of a condition called dermatomyositis,
which can be associated with a variety of cancers including lung, ovarian,
stomach, colorectal and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
It's
rare that mysterious pain turns out to be caused by cancer -- but people who
have joint or other pain or rashes of unknown origin should see their doctor.
Chances are the problem will be something else entirely or you'll get a clean
bill of health and whatever it is will resolve naturally. In any case, you'll
likely feel better after ruling out the worst-case scenario.

I regret to inform you of the passing of Dr. George J. Goodheart Jr.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to his family. We join in mourning with the countless people throughout the world who have been touched by the work and ideas of this extraordinary man.
Let us strive to carry on his ever-expanding legacy with humility and profound gratitude for the man who started it all.
I am not familiar with any of the technology of the mentioned
models but an important technical feature to notice is that “radiant”
applications are far more effective than pads or contact plates. The point
of entry of the frequency must be “determined and managed” to
have the optimum effect. Just running the current through the body is NOT
very productive. At least with radiant applications the signal can “find”
the priority entry point.
I'd point out that Rife's original devices never touched the patient with pads or any electrical connection, but rather used plasma tubes which bathed the patient in radiation of the appropriate frequency. I've heard claims that both ways are superior, so it's anyone's guess.
One other thought: I'm not sure if you can control the amplitude digitally on this one. The specs aren't really give.
As usual, a good return policy will go a long way in raising your comfort level with this device.

This looks a lot like a device used in an office I once worked in -
fairly effective for energetic issues.
The Bicom unit (at this office) was similar in that you type in the
number and a set of preprogrammed frequencies were transmitted into
the body either through rods or pads.
As in any Bioresonance device - a lot of claims are made, and
everyone wants a cheaper version than the real thing. Good luck.
