I have a patient with a burning nose. A few years ago I had a case that didn't
resolve. She is 57, is pretty much allergic to most meds, cannot take any
enzymes without abdominal disturbance.
On her own she's tried nasal flushes with sinu rinse, neil med sinues rinse,
water pik, saline water and saline spray, Ayr gel and spray. Avolox and 2 z
packs in the past 3 months for sinus infections.
She puts vaseline in her nose as well as vicks because that burn hurts less than
nothing at all. She boils vicks and water in the housse to help with the
humidity and then none at all.
She's cut out caffeine and that's made it worse.
Pepcid and zantac help the stomach but not the nose.
CPK reveals yeast that has been treated. Anterior scalene muscles and upper
thoracic involvement. Hiatal hernia, a deficiency in HCL but that can be
treated with ST 36/45 as she reacted to just about every supplement we've
attempted (and it's been deficient! no cross talk).
The EENT today suggested she has sjogrens. I'm not buying it but at least they
ran the correct tests. She's not dry other than her nose and recently her eyes
and doesn't feel the need to drink all day long like most sjogren patients.
