I am looking for a web site / email address for Dr. Carloa Salas;
Martha sent me here to find dental work.

Can anyone give me a hand?

Thanks ...

Angie,
It depends on the retreat. Most charge about $85 plus tax. Some charge
extra, and only pick you up and drop you off at the airport and two trips to
the doctor. Some charge extra for AC if needed. Some charge extra for
snacks or drinks in the room refrig. Some charge for bandages and laundry.
Other's are all inclusive.

Google: LeMas, do know the road to them right now is awful. Las Cumbres,
Casa de la Mariposa and Chetica. Another option is Ana Carmona who does not
have a website but is word of mouth and the first recovery retreat in San
Jose.

Do stay at a retreat a minimum of the ten days. Hotels to consider are La
Sabana Apartotel, Apartotel Christina and Kalexma, which is smaller and more
of a B&B. You can Google them too.

I've been researching the cost of the medical retreats all morning, and
it looks to be about $100 a day after taxes and fees. Does that sound
right?

Also, someone told me I may want to consider staying at a retreat for
the first 10 days after surgery, and then move to a hotel for the next
five, does that sound like a good idea? I'm planning to have tummy
tuck, breast lift, and maybe some lipo. Thank you so much!

yes. think about at least 10K with staying and cost of living there. and some times you need to change plan add or reduce procedure depends on the Dr. seeing you for real.

Angie, I just had a breast lift with implants in CR @ Rosenstock and it
was 3400.00 ( would have been 3000 without implants) and I have a quote
from Dr. da Cruz for a tummy tuck @ 5000.00. He says the lipo with the
TT is included , not other areas. So just those 2 procedures I think
will cost at least 8400.00
Have you sent pictures and asked for quotes yet?

If you use a plastic surgeon who uses their own clinic's surgical suite look
more at $8,000.00. To be on the safe side. At least $3600.00 for each
proceedure. But do contact a few surgeons you are interested and send them
photos and ask for estimates on costs.

Michelle is right, you should have a cushion in  your budget for meds, massages, extra supplies (bandages, compression items) and other small things that can pop up.

where are you going to stay?
also, you always need extra just in case. not that they add a lot, but when they really see you,
some times the picture changes, and the plan become a little different.

I'm on such a tight budget, and was wondering if it's common for the
recovery retreats or doctors to add on a lot of extra charges? Are
there extra fee's for the shuttles? Thanks!

Hi, I'm planning to get a tummy tuck, breast lift, and some lipo, and

how long should I plan to stay at the recovery retreat?

I would like to go on a site-seeing tour while I'm there, since I've

Thanks so much!

Hey Folks!

I'm totally new here and I'm looking into Costa Rica for a breast
augmentation with cohesive gel implants. I'm in contact right now with
Dr. Miguel Alfaro and a couple others.

Has anyone had a breat aug, with or without the gels, in Costa Rica and
want to share their advice?

I'm looking to go sometime next year with my husband. We'll get our own
room likely and he'll be my caretaker.

I'm hesistant about going overseas but I know Costa Rica is the place
to do it. I really want this type of implant and it's not offered here
in the US outside of clinical trial.

Thanks guys!

I went to Rosenstock a couple of years back and I was both afraid and full of questions. They were great, I highly recommend them. I brought my mom with me so she helped me, but I am sure that they can recommend someone to you. It took me about 15 days to feel well enough to travel, but I stayed a month. It is a pain to sleep with the bandages and I could not wait to take them off, I really think that the bandages and the itching was the worst part :) Best of luck!

Hi - I have been in contact with the doctors at the Rosenstock Center
in Costa Rica over the past few days as I am interested in having a
tummy tuck and lipo on my thighs in January. I am very excited abot
having this done, but also very nervous about the procedures on a whole!

Can anyone offer any input on these procedures (healing time, pain
etc.) as well as nice places to stay?

Also, has anyone ever had a thigh lift? I am considering which would
be the best option in reducing the looseness of my thighs!

Thanks!

Places to stay.  A recovery retreat would be your best bet especially if you are traveling alone.

Hi all,
I am going to Costa Rica on Sept 20th for work on my face, eyes, and
chin.
Do most people stay their whole time in a recovery retreat or do they
stay a shorter time then transfer to a hotel downtown?
Are there any recovery retreats in San Jose or are they all in the
mountains?
Mosquitoes LOVE me, I think they will fly 100 miles to find me, how
are the mosquitoes in the mountain areas?
Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Rob!

I am staying at Chetica and it is in the mountains. I have not come
across any mosquitoes yet, but if they are here, I am sure you will
find some! I stayed at a resort in San Jose my first trip and was not
happy with that stay at all. I am in the mountains this time and
completely happy.

I have only had lipo done. I say only....there was no "only" about
it. I would plan to stay at a recovery retreat the entire time. It is
worth it to have someone check on you, bring your meds, make sure you
are alive, call the doctor if not...etc.

My experience at the one recovery place I stayed at was they kept
their windows open. So being in the city is not guarantee against
mosquitoes. Here in the mountains, I am at Chetica now
recovering..there are screens on all the windows, so I have not
noticed any bugs or heard complaints from other guests.

Best of luck!

Brandee

Hello everyone,
I am new to this board and am very glad that I am. I am planning to have a butt
lift, which
includes lipo of the abdomen, thighs, back...basically everywhere that they can
take fat. I
am 31 years old and weigh 129 at 5'4, so there is definitely some fat they can
take, but it
will be added to my already full buttocks. I am excited to have my figure a
little more
curvy and my butt a little more full. I am also considering maybe an upper
eyelid lift and a
neck lift (both would be very minor results since it really is just some touch
up stuff that I
am wanting). I thought about the pain of recovery on my face since I would have
to lie on
my stomach for almost two weeks so the fat transfer does not move and my face
would be
flat on a pillow or the mattress until able to sit regularly, again. I read on
this board that
they doctors at this center are great and have had successful results. I am
nervous, since
this will be my first procedure.

I was wondering if anyone here has had this procedure done. I am pretty much
set on http://www.casadelamariposacostarica.com/ and one great amenity is that
they offer free
phone calls to and from the U.S., along with their other great care. I have
considered Las
Cumbress, as well.

Any information that you may provide would be great!

Thanks! - Adina

I am looking for recent experiences with this group of doctors in Costa
Rica regarding lipo.

If you have had lipo in the last year with them, can you please either
post your best and worst opinions or email me privately.

I would like to hear some real live examples before I commit.

I appreciate your help...

Did y'all know that there is an online support group dedicated for Rosenstock Lieberman Clinic patients and those researching them?

It is privately owned, not in anyway obligated to the R/L Clinic or any other business in Costa Rica....

Hi Janet,

In early December, I had a neck lift, lower and upper face lift and eyes done at Rosenstock, as well as some liposuction of waist and back that I added on as an after-thought at my consultation the day before surgery.  And I stayed at Las Cumbres.  I am 95% happy with everything that I experienced, which I think is pretty good!  I would have liked just a little more lift to my outer brow, but I also didn't want any drastic effect, so I think they walked that line pretty well.  I absolutely love the liposuction result and I wasn't even planning to do it.  It's given me back the curve in my waist from my 20's and 30's.  (I'm 59 now.)  I would just be very explicit about what you want.  I find I'm even happier with the result as the months go by.

I had a lovely experience at Las Cumbres.  They accomadated some very unique dietary requests graciously and deliciously.  And Elke and her staff's coordination of transportation (a pretty challenging thing with so many people going to many different places in San Jose traffic) pretty amazing.  The drivers were extremely courteous, kind and helpful.

You'll get to know some really interesting people during your stay.

Best of luck to you!

Donna

This revealed I had atrial fibrillation in my heart. They cancelled my
surgery and told me to see a heart Dr. upon my return home.

is, have an EKG a few days before your trip. For it to be accepted
there it must be very recent. They have a fine cardiologist and he
only charged $60.00 for the test. The big thing is they must be very
careful, they are most probably not carrying any Malpractice Insurance
and must be very careful.

booked and not used, so even though I knew this, with my surgery being
cancelled, had no choice but to pay for 7 days not used.

met some fine people. One problem, when I returned home there was a
$700.00 room charge to my credit card, even though I had paid Elke in
cash. It took several weeks to get this cleared up, was so happy I
had American Express and their fraud unit to handle it for me. Elke
called and apologized to me, told me how it happened and I am sure it
was a bookkeeping error, but it shook me up for few days.
> The rooms were very clean, convenient and comfortable, constant
additions being added on. The food was home cooked and served very
pleasing. I would say if I could get this Arial fibrillation cleared
up I would go back and try the whole experience over again. All the
very best of luck to you Janet and Merry Christmas.

oh my goodness Sonja.....what a disapointment for you.!
i to had an ECG and thankfully i scraped by,as i have a bit of a heart
problem.
i had the tests at the Rosenstock, and yes it cost $60.
and how stressful to also have a problem with Las
Cumbria..... ...actually there seems there are often problems with
'paying'at many recovery homes.?

avoid the Costa Blanca retreat though, its awful.....i left there early.
it is no place for recovery.!

i swear by pure camellia oil.....nothing added and nothing taken away.!
most skin creams and potions contain so many additives that i wonder
if we realise exactly what we put on our skin.?

Came back home without any procedures done.  Cardiologist did an EKG and said it was too risky due to atrial fibrillation.  I do however recommend both Dr. Cruz and Las Cumbres.
