Hello everyone,
I am new to this board and am very glad that I am. I am planning to have a butt
lift, which
includes lipo of the abdomen, thighs, back...basically everywhere that they can
take fat. I
am 31 years old and weigh 129 at 5'4, so there is definitely some fat they can
take, but it
will be added to my already full buttocks. I am excited to have my figure a
little more
curvy and my butt a little more full. I am also considering maybe an upper
eyelid lift and a
neck lift (both would be very minor results since it really is just some touch
up stuff that I
am wanting). I thought about the pain of recovery on my face since I would have
to lie on
my stomach for almost two weeks so the fat transfer does not move and my face
would be
flat on a pillow or the mattress until able to sit regularly, again. I read on
this board that
they doctors at this center are great and have had successful results. I am
nervous, since
this will be my first procedure.

I was wondering if anyone here has had this procedure done. I am pretty much
set on http://www.casadelamariposacostarica.com/ and one great amenity is that
they offer free
phone calls to and from the U.S., along with their other great care. I have
considered Las
Cumbress, as well.

Any information that you may provide would be great!

Thanks! - Adina

Did y'all know that there is an online support group dedicated for Rosenstock Lieberman Clinic patients and those researching them?

It is privately owned, not in anyway obligated to the R/L Clinic or any other business in Costa Rica....

I am looking for recent experiences with this group of doctors in Costa
Rica regarding lipo.

If you have had lipo in the last year with them, can you please either
post your best and worst opinions or email me privately.

I would like to hear some real live examples before I commit.

I appreciate your help...

Hi Janet,

In early December, I had a neck lift, lower and upper face lift and eyes done at Rosenstock, as well as some liposuction of waist and back that I added on as an after-thought at my consultation the day before surgery.  And I stayed at Las Cumbres.  I am 95% happy with everything that I experienced, which I think is pretty good!  I would have liked just a little more lift to my outer brow, but I also didn't want any drastic effect, so I think they walked that line pretty well.  I absolutely love the liposuction result and I wasn't even planning to do it.  It's given me back the curve in my waist from my 20's and 30's.  (I'm 59 now.)  I would just be very explicit about what you want.  I find I'm even happier with the result as the months go by.

I had a lovely experience at Las Cumbres.  They accomadated some very unique dietary requests graciously and deliciously.  And Elke and her staff's coordination of transportation (a pretty challenging thing with so many people going to many different places in San Jose traffic) pretty amazing.  The drivers were extremely courteous, kind and helpful.

You'll get to know some really interesting people during your stay.

Best of luck to you!

Donna

surgery and told me to see a heart Dr. upon my return home.

is, have an EKG a few days before your trip. For it to be accepted
there it must be very recent. They have a fine cardiologist and he
only charged $60.00 for the test. The big thing is they must be very
careful, they are most probably not carrying any Malpractice Insurance
and must be very careful.

$700.00 room charge to my credit card, even though I had paid Elke in
cash. It took several weeks to get this cleared up, was so happy I
had American Express and their fraud unit to handle it for me. Elke
called and apologized to me, told me how it happened and I am sure it
was a bookkeeping error, but it shook me up for few days.

oh my goodness Sonja.....what a disapointment for you.!
i to had an ECG and thankfully i scraped by,as i have a bit of a heart
problem.
i had the tests at the Rosenstock, and yes it cost $60.
and how stressful to also have a problem with Las
Cumbria..... ...actually there seems there are often problems with
'paying'at many recovery homes.?

avoid the Costa Blanca retreat though, its awful.....i left there early.
it is no place for recovery.!

Came back home without any procedures done.  Cardiologist did an EKG and said it was too risky due to atrial fibrillation.  I do however recommend both Dr. Cruz and Las Cumbres.

I have scheduled 3 procedures with Rosenstock Lieberman for late May
2008: neck lift, lower face lift, and eyelift. I also have
reservations at Las Cumbres.

I'd appreciate any information on experiences with this clinic,
especially if you had any of these procedures done. I'm also
interested in reactions to this recovery hotel, and would also like to
visit with anyone who is going there at the same time. I'll be there

is accompanying (even though he insists I don't need this, I look
beautiful to him, etc. etc., God bless him) but would enjoy having a
fellow patient to share the experience with.

I had tummy tuck, plus three other procedures last year with Dr. Pino. He's very good, even though bedside manner is lacking. I can't even remember the name of the house where I stayed (I'm sixty), but I'll try and come up with the name because she was lovely.

Since I went for surgery, but due to my atrial murmurs could not have
procedures, I can't say what the outcome would have been.
I can say that staying at Las Cumbres was very nice experience. Food
was great and friendly, competent staff. all very helpful.
If I can go back to the Rosenstock clinic for surgery later this year I
will. Good luck. Enjoy your trip.

Just a note on rhinoplasty.   If you have medical insurance you can usually find a doc. who'll do this procedure if you have sinus or other issues added into the total here in the US.  I've had 2 because of sinus issues and a deviated septum.

Hi

I am researching having some cosmetic surgery in CR. I have pretty
much decided on Dr. Araya and also to stay at Villa Le Mas. I
appreciate any feedback. I considered CheTica Ranch and although it
looks wonderful I thought it might be too far from the hospital.
Anyone have any comments or feedback they can share?

Well, I had a breast reduction at the same time, and
my total cost was $7000...I think the total for the
lipo was $3400, and I had waist, sides of back, sides
of breasts, upper and lower abdomen, inner thighs,
inner knees, and some on the hips. Of course, the
total price included all surgical fees, anesthesia,
overnight stay in the surgical facility, post-surgical
garments, prescriptionsand all follow-up visits.
That's pretty much the norm in Costa Rica, although I
know those costs are not included in the states.

Hey KZ,

Thanks for your reply. May I ask what the total cost was and what
areas you had done?

Glad to hear you are happy with the outcome which is most important.

Wesley

I had lipo at Rosenstock-Lieberman in March and the
results were really impressive. I had five liters
removed, which is a LOT, but my results are very
smooth and symmetrical, and my scar tissue is now
gone.

Hi Group,

I just ran across this by accident and I'd already been planning a trip
to Costa Rica, but now considering having some lipo done.

I've had Lipo in the states about 10 years ago and want to do a bit
more on my stomach and love handle areas and was wondering who everyone
recommends and what the cost avg. is there?

Thanks,

Wesley

I had an excellent experience, breast reduction and 5
liter lipo on 3/16/07. Dr's Cohen and Rosenstock were
kind and helpful, and the work I had done has been
greatly admired here in the states, especially the
breast reduction, which is a surgery that often comes
out very badly.

I had intended to have a tummy tuck, but the dr's felt
I would not be please with the results and gave me a
very lovely result with the lipo.

I was also very impressed with the results of the
facial surgeries I saw in the waiting room--my mother
and I will both be having an upper bleph in five
years, and I will certainly be going back to
Rosenstock based on what I saw there. There were
ladies at my recovery home who also had blephs done
and had much more bruising and swelling.

Can anyone tell me about their recent experience with Dr. Rosenstock's
center? I am planning some surgery with the next couple of months and
am just looking for some feedback.
Thanks!
