Megan,
hello and thanks for replying! your concerns are so
normal, i felt them too.
first of all, my tummy tuck was covered by the U.S.
NAVY, my husband is active duty and it is a medical
benefit that the military offers. i was very fortunate
in that area. about your other questions, i was up and
feeling somewhat normal after about 4 weeks. the first
week was the worst for me. my drain sights were very
painful, and i had a lot of pain getting up from a
laying position once i was down. the 2nd week was
better. i was also very lucky to have a nursing
background and a very supportive husband here at home
to help me. he literally did everything for me that
first week. he got me in and out of bed, changed my
dressings, helped me bathe, and held me when i just
satthere and cried! ( and i did a lot of that at
first!! ha! ha!)
sexually, i felt better at about 4 weeks. not only was
i feeling better about the way i looked, but
physically, it felt different, you know? i now had a
flat belly, where as before, i had pounds of sagging
skin! it made all the difference to me and how i felt
about myself in that regard.
i hope you do well. just try to relax and have faith
ok? taking that first step is the hardest thing. after
that, you're on your way, and believe me, IT WILL BE
WORTH IT ALL WHEN IT'S OVER!!
Good luck to you all--
Debbie
