Hi,
Last night, i had to remove my abdominal support. I wasn't able to breathe and
the pain was too high. The only think i could do is take my pain med and go to
bed even if it was only 7 pm. This is not easy for sure.
The abdominal support is going right over my drains which if very painful. As
soon as they will come out next tuesday (crossing my fingers), i till be able to
wear my real post-op girdle.
One thing that is funny about this girdle is it's made for me. I mean the
technician took my measurements from before the sugery and for my hips, he took
the measurement at my bone hips level. (Sorry, i am French) It was giving 40
inches. How will i fit in that. Even after my surgery, i am bigger than
before.... i guess the i am much wider than pre-op.
The infection in my hip seems to start to go better. I have less fluid coming
out and the color is not as brownish as it was. It's going slowly to pink like
on the left side. About my navel, i dunno. I just hope it won't die or fall on
the floor.
Nathalie

I am sorry to hear that you have an infection. The itching near the
scar is normal, it is a sign of healing. As for any tips; I would
recommend wearing your binder at ALL times. It will serve several
uses. It will keep the swelling down. It is normal to have some
swelling; however, swelling can increase if fluid gathers. The
binder will prevent the fluid from building up. The binder also
helps you to stand straight again sooner. It will help ensure you
do not do too much too soon.
