  CONGRATS on the decision to take charge of your life w/ the bypass...and
on your weight loss, and your decision to take this next step for you!!!
  I had bypass in July of 05-lost almost 150 lbs and had a tt,
brachioplasty with major hernia repair last November.  I am so very happy I
had it done. I feel so good about ME throught this whole journey and am now
looking forward to havine breast red/lift next month. I am 60 years young and
have my life back. I couldn't even walk to the mailbox before all this and this
weekend I built a garden and moved 2 cu yards of dirt by myself and have the
garden ready to go. First weekend in May I did 42 miles on my bicycle with
a group-it is so wonderful having my life back, having energy and feeling
so much better about myself. Yes, it is a daily commitment to doing what is
right, but so worth it.
 so, you ARE doing the right thing for you. What I can say is, if you
haven't done it yet, get something for constipation NOW-before you do anything
else. The meds will play  with your system, don't be afraid to take
your pain meds right after-stay ahead of the pain, don't wait for it to get bad,
walk when you can, drink lots of water, and CAN YOU SAY PROTEIN!!!-very crucial
to healing. Keep those levels hight.

Hello everyone. I wanted to join the group because I am having surgery
this week, and I am a little nervous. A little over a year ago I had
gastric bypass surgery, and I have lost about 115 lbs. As the next
step, I need to have a tummy tuck and a breast lift. I am a little
apprehensive because before my bypass, I would never have dreamed of
having any kind of cosmetic surgery. Does anyone have any words of
wisdom to let me know I am doing the right thing? Thanks for all your
input!
