Margaret,
I'll say an amen to Simmy (as I always do!). In my case, when the PS
took off the bandages, he said I might have trouble with the spot
where the "T" comes together at the base of the right breast because
the incisions had bled into the bandage due to the tight skin and
(like Simmy said) the weight of the breast. He was right; as the
other incisions healed, that one didn't really heal because the top
layer kept coming off inside my sport bras or onto the gauze. The
open part was about the size of a nickel. It didn't cause any pain
though.
I read somewhere, on this board or on another one, that it might be
useful to cut a pantiliner and put it between the wound and the bra.
(Remember back in the 70s when Evel Knieval was burned all over his
body from skidding across the pavement? The doctors covered his body
in sanitary pads!) Sure enough, I tried it and the top layer hardly
stuck anymore. I also kept treating the wound with Vitamin E oil and
Polysporin. Now it's almost healed, now about a quarter inch in
diameter--very small.
Plastic surgery is a process that requires patience, and I'm learning
it!
