What it feels like to have lipo   Message List

Hey, For anyone interested in having lipo I can tell you what it
feels like

for all the surguries I've had

lipo was the least trouble some

I had mine done with out general anast.
I was fuly awake. They first numb you with lidocaine, big needles
that sink into your skin. The needles themselfs do HURT. It kinda
feels like getting stung by a bee. As the lido goes into your tissue
you become numb. The lipo lasted about an hour. The lipo itself
wasn't so bad because your numb. (I had some excess fat removed from
my hips and stomach)

BUT it hurts when they suck close to the ribs and groin no matter how
much lido you get!

Towards the end when the lido started wearing off it became painfull.

THEN THEY INJECTED some fat into my cheecks for an extra five hundred
dollars. That was not too bad.

Recovery was not so bad, I was able to walk out of the office. As
soon as the lipo is done you will look thinner, however when you
start to swell you will look fatter than you were. Don't wory this
swelling goes away. the first couple of days I would suggest you stay
home in bed, if not for physical reasons, for mental ones. You will
not be able to concentrate on work, PLUS you will have to wear a
girtle than NEEDS TO BE REPOSITIONED EVERY HOUR OR TWO. THIS IS VERY
VERY VERY IMPORTANT!! If you keep the girtle in one spot you will
SCAR!!!!! So follwo the doctors orders!
You will have bruising that will go totally away in about three
months.

After six months you will look great. The tiny scars less than 1/4
inch will remain for about a year or so then they totally fade away.
After a week I was back at the gym. And you kinda swell up a tiny bit
after a work out for the firstcouple of months

If I were having lipo tomorow I would not loose sleep, yes its
painfull but tolerable and the rsults for me were GREAT!!

I tried to be honest and tell you exactly how it felt. I hope this
helps anyone wondering what its like to have "love handles removed"

If your having larger amounts of lipo work done you WILL NEED TO HAVE
COMPLETE ANASTESIA.

PRos and cons of complete anastisia verses local?

Local cost less but as you have read you feel some pain.

General (complete anastesia) cost more, you will feel nothing during
surgery, HOWEVER waking up is, in my experience, very very very
hard. Its like coming back from the dead. They do have meds that
they give you now wich help with the post anastesia. Thank God for
that. I have seen peopel come out of anastesia relativley
compfortable now, however that was not my expereience.

The most painfull experience of my life were

broken bones

and waking up from a nine hour surgery, the longer your ender the
sicker you feel when coming out of it.

AGAIN I am not trying to scare anyone, just giving you my
expereinces.

If anyone has questions about surgery, drugs that help pain, or
cosmetics I will be glad to try and answer them.
