For those who are much more knowledgeable about these items....and hair....

How early can you safely use these to temporarily straighten the hair? I
mean age-wise btw LOL

I've had a rough morning with D, who is dying to have straight hair, and I'm
ready to REALLY give it to her. I have the name of a good stylist, highly
reccommended by J's preschool teacher, who has been going to her since she
was 9. My mom, who is a cosmetologist, but only has experience with
caucasian hair says that 6 is too young, and all her hair is going to end up
breaking off, and that no reputable stylist would touch it to do that.

I'd love to hear others thoughts and opinions.
