I think most of us learned through trial and error. Lots of both on my part.
After awhile, you can do it with your eyes closed. Just practice, and you'll
notice that it looks a little better each time you do it. Just stick to it!
Let us know how it goes!

Hi I am new to the site and really don't know how to braid well. My
son is almost 2 and has very thick hair as I do and my husband and I
are debating whether to take him for his 1st haircut. We agreed that
if either one of us could braid this would be no issue. His daughter
braids very well but she lives in california and we live in Georgia.
Today though I was at the hairdresser and a gentleman walked in with
hair like my son's. One of the beauticians cornrowed his hair and I
watch intently. I think I can do it. I practiced a little tonight
on my son's hair and I think I will give it a try. Any suggestions
out there for this first timer?
