decided to crash. Thanks for the advice and my daughter's hair is
growing out nicely. It's full and healthy. I haven't straightened it
with a hot comb but I think she has finally gotten use to her look.
She has bought beautiful headbands and pretty earrings lately so I
think it's a good thing. For now. I know the day is coming when she's
going to want to do something else with her hair. But I'm ready now.
Thanks so much for the advice..

My own daughter is going through the same transition as your
daughter. What I do for her is straighten her hair out with the blow
dryer or straigtening comb. I alternate because I don't want to
damage her hair. It makes cornrowing her hair easier and more
manageable. I don't know about the online course, but I took a
braiding/weaving course at a community college near me. It would
probably be best to take a course at a school so you can have that
teacher presence. I learned alot and I took it further and I got my
license. It's funny because I only took the course to learn different
braid styles and techniques to do my own childrens' hair and now it's
taken me further and I earn money for the braids that I do. I must
say that I enjoy braiding now. -Zaneta
