Yesterday i saw a chiropractor for an unrelated problem, he told me that there
is a chiropractor north of Seattle,(I live near Tacoma)who has helped people who
have MM. Has anyone here heard about a chiropractor having success with MM?
I have another question. I do water aerobics at a pool near my home. It is a
salt water pool, that is, they do not use chlorine but salt as the primary
chemical. Salt is, after all sodium chloride. It is a very pleasant pool with no
chlorine smell or burning of eyes. I am wondering if salt can be absorbed into
the skin. I have been going to that pool for 10 years. I have only been having
MM symptoms the last 6 months.I truly enjoy the exercise program.
My husband says that if you dont want to hear the answer, dont ask the question,
but the idea that i am contributing to my MM attacks is in the back of my mind.
What do you think? Roberta
This is a question for a doctor. I wouldn't have a clue.

I am not a doctor also. But I would guess Yes. I have done a few cleanses over the years. Riding of toxins, RX left in body, and one way of doing this was thru a electro pulse thru blood stream, while feet were soaking in a ion bathe. wow. It worked. So if we can rid of toxins thru feet, seeming a hard skin surface. In such large amounts. I beleive we can absorb also. Same as cleaning bathtub, while in it. Feet absorb toxic cleansers.
I would love to hear more about the salt water thing. I live by the ocean, and do put my feet often in the water? Curious? Good Question for the Professionals.
Take Care,
Carrie

Continue the exercise. I don'think enough salt can be absorbed in the pool
water or ocean water to make that difference unless you swallow a lot of it. I
am not too sure about chiropractors. They did help my low back but did not help
my neck and dizziness at all. I stopped going.

Thank you for your replies. I am new at this illness, and it is nice to to ask
questions of someone who wont think I'm stupid. I plan on going to the exercise
class tomorrow. I enjoy reading all your emails and am interested in hearing
about the ways that you cope.
I am interested in the low sodium diet, do you have favorite recipes? do you
have tips for a newbie? Thanks again. Roberta

Hi Roberta,
My name is Mary Ann. I have been part of this group for a few
years, although I do not post very often. I am writing to answer
your question re: chiropractic care. As any oldtimer with this
group knows, I have had MM since 2005. From 2005-2006(when I was
hospitalized for it) ENTs and medical doctors could not help me.All
they wanted to offer me was increasingly invasive surgeries once it
became apparent the pills were not working. The pills they
prescribed(meclezine and diuretics) only made me worse. After
getting out of the hospital in March of 2006, I went back to my
chiro/kinesiologist. I went on and remain on a very STRICT
diet(no salt, no sugar and ONLY complex carbohydrates, no alcohol
etc.) I also exercise, get monthly chiro adjustments and am on
a # of supplements. Since 2006 I have had a few bouts
of what I term wooziness and only 1 severe bout of complete
vertigo/puking (I first had a very bad cold and after the cold ended
the MM began) that lasted for 1 month in 2007. While my treatment
with the chiro has NOT cured my MM, it has at least, I believe, made MM
OK to live with and has for the most part allowed me to get back to
part of the life I had before the MM began.
I hope this has helped answer your question.
Mary Ann

I found this lady on the internet who is an Upper Cervical Chiropractor in Boulder, CO. Her name is Dr. Erin Elster. She did a study of 60 patients with various dizziness/vertigo disorders and has had an extremely high success rate!!! Her website is: http://www.erinelster.com/ConditionsDetail.aspx?ConditionID=9. My Menieres symptoms started after a typical chiropractic neck adjustment. Even now if I have my neck adjusted or massaged, my symptoms become exacerbated. I truly believe that mine was caused by or induced due to a neck/nerve injury. Anyhow, I've emailed this doctor on numerous occassions and she always replies to my emails. After reading her published study on vertigo/dizziness as well as
the numerous testimonials from various people, not only in the USA, but from people who have flown in from accross the world to see her, I'm willing to try anything at this point for any type of relief. I'm seriously considering making a trip to see her in the very near future!!! I think anyone who is dealing with this awful illness and would like some relief should keep an open mind and possibly consider this route. If anyone else out there tries her and/or this technique and it works, let me know!!!! =0)
