Welcome! You will be glad to have this site and all of us who know exactly what you are going through! I feel fortunate that I didn't develop MM until I was older although had symptoms probably my whole life. I had my first bad "spell" in 1992 when I was 56. I was working at the time and realize now I had no business driving but I had no choice. Episodes have come and gone during the years and I was even into denial that maybe it had gone away when lo and behold in Jan of this year it returned with a vengeance. This web site has done so much for me in helping me understand this disease. So many helpful tips, suggestions, etc from people who are living with it. I learned that weather (barometric change) really does a number on me and thank God the weather has leveled off and I am able to resume early morning walking again. Allergies, stress, salt, caffeine, chocolate are also bogeymen! I need to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, try to get a good night's sleep and eat on a regular basis (if the nausea is gone). I have finally learned the meaning of One Day At A Time. I know upon awakening if it is going to be a productive day or one where I sit in bed and just stare into space like a big bird! I am heavily into gratitude for the good days and that I don't have something "worser". Again, welcome! Love and hugs, Lou (California)

Hey! Just wanted to introduce myself. I am pretty new to the online group thing but ready to jump right in...
My name is Brenda and I was diagnosed with Menieres Disease about a month ago. I have to say that first attack was probably the scariest experience I have ever had. I was at work (luckily in a hospital) and everything started to spin. Then came the sweating from head to toe and finally the never ending vomiting. I didn't know what was going on with me. I thought things like "is this what a heart attack feels like?" "am I going to die?" I really just didn't have a clue as to why the spinning wouldn't stop. After being in the ER for over 5 hours, they sent me home with meds and an appointment with an ENT doctor. You know the rest after that.
I am 30 years old, married and have twin babies that will be turning 1 year next month. I have many questions and fears and am hoping that finding a community of people that have the same disease I have will help.
