Hi everyone,
Lots of info to search through here, so it'll take me some time to get up to
speed. Mostly
just wanted to say hi to everyone :)

I still am not really sure what my "problem" is actually called. I've been
through a
neurologist, then to a rheumatologist (2 of them actually). I originally went in
to the
neurologist for muscle-ish type pain, mostly for my neck/back & legs, guess that
covers
mostly everything. He did lots of tests and a pricey MRI, which came back fairly
normal. My
CPK was slightly high, and I have reddish cheeks, the reynaud's thing; so my
neurologist
thought it'd be best to at least try a rheumatologist.

So I went, did more tests, and have been on Plaquenil for about 2 years. He also
started
me on Imuran (the pill version) about a year ago - which I think actually has
helped the
most. Though I still regularly take lots of Advil, Darvocet, and Soma. Also
taking Diltiazem
for the reynauds which also seems to work fairly well most of the time. The only
answer he
seems to have for a name of what I have is "Unspecified Connective Tissue
Disease". Which
seems pretty broad. Lots of info for this, but I guess I was hoping for
something a bit
more specific in terms of a condition so I could at least put a finger on it.
Good or bad, I
don't really know.

He hasn't "officially" labeled it Lupus or something like that. I think maybe I
don't fit the
exact criteria for any one specific thing, so that's as good of a name as I get?
I'm also
male, which from looking online, it seems most of these disorders are much more
common in females...guess I got extra un-lucky.

Does this sound fairly common among doctors? When looking it up online, the
Imuran
sounds like pretty strong stuff - is this semi heavy duty? I guess I'm mostly
just looking for
some reassurance, and again will sift through the archives on here.

Anyways, hope everyone is doing well. I look forward to joining this group.
