Hi everyone. Well I have some good and scary
news. Carol, you already know so bear with me. I am
pregnant... 7 weeks today. I am very high risk becuase I have
cystic medial necrosis and a repaired aortic dissection.
All of my Dr.s have worked with women who have
dissected during pregnancy or have had an aneurysm during
pregnancy, but none have ever had a woman who has already
dissected, had that dissection repaired, and then gotten
pregnant. In fact, after I had my acute dissection back in
98, my dr.s told me to "have my tubes tied", and yes
they said it that bluntly and rudely. I have since
moved to NY and have changed Dr.s. In NY they seem to
have a much more liberal view of my situation. Anyway,
I just wanted to catch up on whats been going on
with me, and also welcome our new members. If anyone
happens to know of anyone who has had a dissection
repaired and then gotten pregnant, could you please let me
