Hello Everyone! I have just joined this group and I need to have someone to
talk to about all of the problems I have; although I know that there is always
someone out there (many out there), that are much worse off than me. I tell
myself "at least you are not homeless, in a wheelchair, obtaining nourishment
from a tube, unemployed, without health insurance (regardless of how much they
seem to screw me over and try to get out of paying)"; although I am starting to
wonder if the "don't giving" is doing more harm than good. My Pain Management
DR required me to go see a Pain Psychologist to make sure I would not abuse my
pain medication and the Psychologist told me that I need to admit to myself that
I have problems b/c I am in denial. Sometimes I feel like someone with a
substance abuse problem, at least that is the way some people treat me, as if I
can control what this disease does to me. I wish that good nutrition and
exercise would cure all of my problems, but the almost
unbearable truth, as you and I know, is that there seems to be very little that
we can do to help this condition other than take medication to help keep us
comfortable. I have found that massage does help alleviate some of the pain,
but there again it only cures the symptoms and not the disease.
Sorry for my long windedness but this venting seems to help because I feel like
someone is listening and really understands. I welcome all advise and if you
have found something that works please let all of us know!
Thank you
jen
