-Hi Lois,
I am also a compulsive gambler and so very familer with the
madness. I just want you to know you are not alone. I have lived that
nightmare for far too long and know the pain that goes with it.
I know everyone is going to have different advice and things work
differently for everyone.
I would strongly encourage you to see if there is a GA meeting in
your area. It can be really hard to get the courage to go to your
first meeting. But just remember those people are just like us
struggling with gambling. Just going to a meeting and listening can
be a great first step to stopping. I was reallly scared went I first
went. I almost did not go in. I am so glad I did. I was overwhelmed
with others kindness and understanding. They did not judge me and
they understood. Just letting my secret out was a huge relief.
I pray alot these days. I have always had god in my life but I
know now that It is up to me to do the work. God will provide me with
the peace and courage to do so.
I know no matter what the situation is it can get better. I have
heard lots encourging stories at ga meetings and I know from
experience that my life is getting better everyday since I quit.
please feel free to email if you would like. I would be happy to
offer any support I can. Take care,
God Bless,
Jenny
