Mollymay,
Hi, I am so sorry to hear that your local GA was closed down. I don't know how
new you are to recovery and if you have been able to go to any meetings at all.
I would suggest try calling the Ga hotline to see if there is any other meetings
at all near you. I am just passing my 2 month mark. so I am kinda new also. I
just know that going to the meetings has been so very helpful. I know for me
just being able to share with others my problem and not have to keep it a secret
anymore has been such a relief. I think on yahoo they have an online meeting in
the chat room sometimes. I have found a really neat website for women too. It is
www.femalegamblers.org . It has alot of personal stories that helped me know
that it can be done! If you do call the Ga hotline ask them if they can send you
one of their yellow books to read. I know the first time I went to the meeting
they told me at the group to go home and read it.It was really helpful and
reassuring.
I hope you can find some help and support in your area and if you have
questions or just need someone to talk to please email me again. I will be happy
to help any way I can. Take care and god bless,
Jenny
p.s I think on the GA website it will give you a number to call for other
meetings in your state. Also my email is yearneau@... :)
