Hi Julie!
Thanks for the info, and for the welcome. My house is the one with the blue
metal roof on Jerome- stop in sometime if you're around! Also I wanted to let
you know (if you don't already) that a pair of Cooper's Hawk's are nesting in
the large elm in the little forest corner of Allis' property (where the big oak
and wildflowers are). Last year, they nested right across from my house. Keep an
eye out for them!

Hi Clare,
Welcome to the neighborhood! I live 5 blocks off Buckeye, but on the far side of
Stoughton Rd. The construction at Allis will all be inside, but they will have
lots of equipment outside, so they recommended not doing the garden this year.
They are putting in a new furnace and all new duct work, upgrading electrical,
new lights, some new ceilings and soffits. We have to take home all of our
personal stuff, even furniture. It shouldn't impact the neighbors much, though,
I wouldn't think.

Hi Julie!
I live nearly next door to Allis now, and am wondering what kind of
construction is in store. I hadn't heard of any....
And, how are you?

Hi Ben,
I would like a couple to start a patch with. Our school garden will be out of
commission this summer, due to building construction not wanting us in their
way, but I will start them at my house and move some to school next summer.
Thank you! You have my sympathy for losing your grandfather and uncle.

Hi All,
I am planning on digging some raspberry bushes this weekend, and would
like to offer them free to anyone who is interested in starting a patch.
These are "special" not because of their ability to grow in outer space
or anything amazing, but because they are part of a large patch tended
by my grandfather and uncle since 1991. Both Gramps and Uncle Scott
passed away in 2006 and I would be very happy to see their work live on
in years to come. We are preparing to sell the house, so this is a
one-time offer.
They are VERY prolific bushes; bearing large, flavorful, deep-red fruit.
I do not know the variety but are growing very well in Beaver Dam, so
would likely do well in the Madison area.
Please respond to me by Friday with any requests. The amount I can give
each person depends on how many people respond, as there is only so much
room in the back of my Subaru.
Be well and happy, happy Spring,
Benjamin Sommers
