We at CAC Food & Gardens Division are working
with UW Cooperative Extension to plan another fun, free late-winter conference
for community gardeners in
When: Sunday, March 18 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm
Who:
Bring the kids!
Bring the adults!
THIS EVENT IS FREE! We’ll have lots of
gardening & leadership sessions for adults;
nature activities for kids; materials
you can take back to your garden; and
a light lunch of food prepared during
cooking demonstrations by gardeners.
What:
Great workshops and
discussions: Composting;
Gardening without Gasoline (no-till methods); How to Save a Garden, led by
leaders of the threatened Sheboygan Garden; How to Start a New Garden; School
Gardens; Garden Plot Fees; Garden Rain Barrels led by Sustain Dane.
Materials for your
garden:
We’ll distribute seeds and supplies to garden leaders (contact us
in advance if you’d like to pick these up for your community garden).
Cooking
demonstrations: Favorite
traditional dishes made with garden produce.
Kids Activities: led by staff of
