VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT 

Community Action Coalition for South Central WI, Inc. (CAC), a private non-profit agency dedicated to developing economic and social capacities of individuals, families and communities to reduce poverty in Dane, Jefferson and Waukesha Counties is accepting applications for the position of  

AGENCY AND GARDEN TECHNICIAN. 

DUTIES INCLUDE: *Prepare and maintain multiple garden sites including mowing, plot monitoring, fence repairing, trouble shooting

*Operate and maintain small and large engine machinery

*Perform seasonal activities (mowing, shoveling)

*Monitor agency surroundings and building (roof, electric, plumbing, and fire extinguishers)

*Mentor and teach participants the basics of safety techniques, simple repairs, tool care and garden etiquette

*Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment using a computer 

EXPERIENCE:  *Minimum one year in the operation, transport and routine servicing of tractor and other implements

*Minimum one year with small engine machinery (mower, tiller)

*Knowledge of safety techniques

*Experience in food gardening

*Experience in routine maintenance tasks

*Ability to respect the strengths and capacities of people affected by poverty while understanding the causes and conditions of poverty

   *Ability to work varied and flexible hours

*Ability to lift 100 pounds and 75 pounds repetitively

*Maintain a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
