I am passing on the message below from a VISTA who is planning to do a spring youth garden event similar to "Get Out and Grow" in 2005. This team is making a large effort to learn from our experiences last year- I hope you'll consider participating!

"As part of a National Youth Service Day initiative to get K-16 youth out in the community during the weekend of April 21-23, we are looking for 1-2 gardening sites that can accommodate 20-30 college students from MATC, and another 1-2 sites that can accommodate 20-30 elementary or middle school students.  We would like this event to be an opportunity for students to do service while participating in gardening/craft activities while also learning more about the role of gardens in the Madison community.  Please contact Amy Martin, AMartin@... if you will be able to accommodate student volunteers either Friday or Saturday, April 21-23."
