note that EINPC/GLC offices has a book Fawn Houck donated to the resource library available to borrow called  The Quickening of America, written with Paul Marin DuBois that covers stories of Americans working in communities and practical ideas on how to het involved in democracy.  The back of the book writes:

Agroecology Special Event - A Conversation with  Frances Moore Lappé

 

Frances Moore Lappé is a noted author and agrofood activist, best known for books such as Diet for a Small Planet, Food First, Hope's Edge: The Next Diet for a Small Planet, and her newest book, this year's Democracy's

Edge: From the Dinner Table to the Front Page.  She is also the co-founder of Food First/Institute for Food and Development Policy.  Few, if any, have had more impact on discussions about food, agriculture, environment,

and society in the past 30 years.

 

Co-Sponsored by Agroecology Program, FH King Students for Sustainable Agriculture, Family Farm Defenders,

SociETAS Seminar Series, and the Departments of Agronomy, Agricultural and Applied Economics, Rural

Sociology, and Soil Science
