Next Wednesday night...
eat out with friends,
take your sweetie out on the town,
grab a bite with the family,
but do not miss ...

the Food for Thought Festival
Local Night Out

Wednesday, Sept. 14th

From a slice of pizza to fine gourmet dining, there will be options in every price range to enjoy a great local meal at a great local restaurant.  The following restaurants will be featuring special meals prepared with
locally-grown farm products during "Local Night Out":

Blue Marlin
- 101 N. Hamilton
Bunky's Cafe
- 2827 Atwood Ave.
The Dardanelles - 1851 Monroe St.
Eldorado Grill - 744 Williamson St.
Greenbush Bar
- 914 Regent St.
Harvest Restaurant - 21 N. Pinckney St.
Ian's Pizza By the Slice - 115 State St.
L'Etoile  - 25 N. Pinckney St.
Lombardino's - 2500 University Ave.
Nadia's - 508 State St.
Ovations - 1 W. Dayton St.
Quivey's Grove - 6261 Nesbitt Rd.

Roman Candle - 1054 Williamson St.
White Horse Inn - 202 N. Henry St.

The free meal at St. Martin House will participate in Local Night Out by serving a meal with produce donated from Quann Community Gardens.

Please support these restaurants by eating at one
(or more!) on Sept. 14th.
Ask them which menu items contain  local ingredients.
And tell them you appreciate their efforts to support local farmers!

When we eat locally we get the freshest, most delicious and healthiest food possible.  We also contribute to our local economy, keep farmers on the land, and protect our environment by reducing the distance our food travels.

When our food is local and sustainably grown we:
 ~ reduce toxic pesticide use,
~ protect our waters and soils,
 ~ preserve habitats,
~ have access to foods that are part of our regional heritage,
~ assure a healthy "food system" that can continue to provide food
    for future generations!

Let's all work to shorten the distance from farm to table!
"Local Night Out" is a great way to start.
