Hello Everyone- We will be having the Community Food and Garden Network service learning meeting on Monday Sept. 13th from 3:30-5:30 at the Pyle Center on Langdon St. at the University.
We will discuss the goals of service learning partnerships, hear from professors experienced with service learning and have an open period where you can collaborate with others on your project.
The tentative agenda is~
3:30-3:50 Welcome and Introductions
3:50-4:10 Mary McCarty, VISTA supervisor, with the UW-Extension and Campus Compact will discuss the benefits of service learning, the goals of the WI Campus Compact program and give examples of service learning projects
4:10-4:20 Sam Dennis from the UW Landscape Architecture Department will talk about his experience with service learning projects in Madison and at Penn State
4:20-4:30 Question and Answer session
4:30-5:30 Open discussions and networking with Professors, service learning coordinators and CFGN members
Due to Pyle Center regulations we will be serving refreshments outside of the building
