Hi CFGN-ers!
I am writing you wearing my grad student hat to
request advice. Sam Dennis and I are in the beginning
stages of selecting case studies for a study on youth
development within community programs. Do any programs
spring to mind?
Specifically, we are looking for programs that are
-in Wisconsin
-include youth ages 12-18
-involve youth in community planning or environmental
care projects
Projects may be aimed at improving the physical
condition of the local community, for example:
gardening projects, park development projects,
community mapping, or open space planning; or caring
for the local environment, for example: monitoring
stream health, mapping urban forests, active
stewardship of natural areas.
Programs may be sponsored by school, scouting,
faith-based, tribal, or other groups in rural, urban,
or suburban settings.
At the end of our study, we will provide selected
programs with an independent program assessment, which
will be useful in self-evaluation and grantwriting.
Please let me know if you know of any interesting
programs that might fit these criteria. Thanks for
your help!
