Dear OFOM Supporters,
I am writing to you today to solicit your help! As you know, The
Ohio Friends of Midwives is a grass-roots, consumer-based, non-profit
organization, dedicated to supporting and promoting midwifery and the
Midwives Model of Care (MMOC) as quality health care options for Ohio
women and their families. The Ohio Friends of Midwives hopes to
assure that your daughters and grand daughters have access to
midwifery care. Ohio currently sits in a precarious position.
Direct-entry midwifery is not currently regulated by the state; a
midwife has recently been prosecuted and is currently incarcerated
for practicing standard midwifery care; and, a bill has been on hold
in the Ohio House of Representatives since last spring. The
direction that the "midwifery train" takes is partially up to its
supporters.
Please volunteer to help OFOM in its continued plight to support and
promote midwifery. Because we are a grass-roots organization, we
rely on our members to take an active role in the organization.
Without your help to fill these volunteer positions, OFOM is at risk
of losing momentum! Please don't wait for someone else to carry the
ball! Get involved today! Volunteer to work collaboratively with
OFOM, then, pass this message on to other women and families who you
think can/will also get involved. If we all work together, we can
create an incredibly forceful engine that can carry midwifery into
Ohio's future with force. All or most of the following positions are
currently available and NEED to be filled:
